Well, Brad and I made it up to Ottawa. I picked him up at like 5:40 from Pickering, and we headed out. However, as many of you know, going anywhere at that time is brutal.

I think some minor demons or lesser evils were trying to keep us back, but someone was on our back (I could get all Hinduistic on you here, but I wont....). Check out our journey.

Apparently the train was delayed for Brad...Because some Snow removal truck was shovelling on the tracks. Or as brad put it, "there was spinach on the tracks".

Then from the Go Station, we took a side road...(Bailey) all the way to Whitby/Oshawa, and jumped on the beloved 401.

Then, because of weather, we had to drive slow. I didn't know until later on in the trip that Brad was terrified, because of a past accident involving bad weather and brown guys.....but that was not me. And then because of the 'blowey' snow, the conditions were kinda bad, I think I used about 1/2 tank of Washer fluid.

Along the way, we were going slow, and then we stopped. A truck had Jack-knifed and blocked the 401 Eastbound, so we were all diverted into the town of Maitland, Prescott and another one I can't remember. It was a nice drive, but it added about 40 minutes to our trip.

We finally got on the 401 again, and realized that our detour was only 3km from the 417 up to Ottawa. Holy Moly...at this point, it was about 10:00. It was getting brutal.

Along the lonely stretch up to Ottawa, it was slow....and the roads were not great. I think was driving in the middle of the road, just because the tracks were there. A few Snow-Cowboys zipped past me (I'm cruising at 115km/h, and they pass like I'm stopped). It was a bit scary.

Lo and behold, Brad and I made it. Woo Hoo. We got into Ottawa, found steve's house, and he came out to greet us. We unpacked, and chilled with beer.

And Steve, the savior, had what I called a God-sent...Nector of the gods.....Labatt's 50. Man, did that go down smooth.

So, we drank, and watched Pool-Hall Junkies. Highly recommended. If you're a Christopher Walken fan, this is a good movie....great lines.

Then we went to bed....Ah...waking up Ottawa.

"What the hell am I doing, driftin' in Ottawa, at 27?" Shake it like a poloroid picture. Hey, ya.
