Happy Good Friday

We have another long weekend. It's weird, coming off of march break, and then straight into Easter.

Ah, the first summer long weekend. It's usually the start of Spring Cleaning. Being still cold outside, it's not a great thing to do. I want to clean my car, but vacuuming in the cold is not so appealing. A clean car is worth it, thought.

Oh, what else, Being married, Linda and I decided to merge our bank accounts to make sure we save money on little transactions, and get a better handle on our finances. We're not overspending , nor do we blow money on things. It' s just hat we want to see where money goes, and all that, and help pay down some things from the move, wedding and other little things that came up (furnace!!!)

So, in the nest few weeks, I'll be saying goodbye to Scotiabank, and saying hello to TD-Canada Trust.

Not getting into a spitting match, but Scotiabank has always gave me a hassle for everything I wanted to do. Even getting money out for my house, they gave me a run around. I had to email the president to sort out the matter, which took care of the problem, but I don';t really want to resort to that action every time I want to do a simple thing.

Case in Point: Apparently I cannot take my Mom off my account, even thought she's been gone for 2 years now. Only the executor (who is my dad) can have that power. He went in after mom passed away to change all of the banking things, which included removing her name from the records. They forgot to take her off of my accounts. And so to remove her, which you cannot, the easiest thing to do would be to make a new account, and switch all of my automatic billing things. I have to do the running around to fix this mistake.

Yeah, that's what I got. Apparently even death is not a good reason for removing a person from an account. So long, Scotiabank. I had my first Getting there account from you, but even that loyalty seems to not matter.

oh, go find some eggs!

Good move! I left Scotiabank years ago for Bank of Montreal because of all the hassle they gave me to do simple things. BoM wasn't much better so I left them for TD since I had a "man on the inside". I'm pretty happy there.
