Interesting Day.

I had to play Basketball against the Canadian Half-Pints. They're a great bunch of guys, and a fantastic show. But when I was playing with them, I accidentally hit one in the head, and knocked him down. He rubbed his head, and stormed off the court. Oops. My defense....He fouled me. Oh well, he survived.

What else? Staff meeting. I'm not going to comment on the meeting, as I'm a bit upset at the idea that there is funding for projects, but nobody wants to approve anything.

Came home early, and watched a bit of Train 48. I have to admit, that yesterday's show was amazing. Zack (Joe Divicol) was incredible in his role. Not often do you see excellence in acting in this show, but it was amazing. Today, not as good as yesterday.

Then, Tara and I went out for a bit. It was nice to spend time with her during the week. I should really make more time for that.

I start pool sessions for training for the Dragon Boat competition on Friday. It cuts into time with Trippy, but I'll figure something out.

Oh, for Sean:

Macintosh Rules, PC Drools (and then freezes)

Not a bad day...but not a great day. Nothing exciting.

I'm about to go out for tea with Steve Campbell. It'll be interesting to hear about his new life as a chef at the Fairmont Royal York.

Oh, Chris' new web-comic is funny. However, it's painfully obvious when he has a slow day at work.

Monday, March 29, 2004

I'm thinking of adding a page to this blog, about me. However, I think that most people know me, and that would therefore be redundant.

Who knows? I may still get pretty egocentric, and post one up of me.

I still want to do a page about my friends and such. Ah, the joys of a digital camera.

Oh, Trippy got one, and Jasse's got one. Wow. They have nice cameras, but I sill like my older Olympus 720.

o.k...i'm just ranting.

Interesting morning. First thing is that I changed my blade on my razor. I am pretty good at using my blade to the last moment, so when I change, I forget that I have to be careful.

I am usually abut 2 months between changing, so it's been a while. When the blade starts to pull the hair from my face, it's almost time change.

Anyway, I was shaving and I felt the 'nick'. l looked down in the sink, and I could see the piece of skin. Oh great. I look in the mirror, and I see the pooling of blood on my face. Damn! This one is not going to heal.

So, all morning, I was dabbing my face with a tissue, and sticking pieces of paper to my face.

Only good thing....It stopped at 9:15. Ugh.

Sunday, March 28, 2004

It's Sunday afternoon. I'm working on a website for work, so I can get some government funding for a project I was working on.

I hope it's not bad. I may post the link here, but for now, it's not live, so don't worry.

Last night, Tara and I rented "The Office". I liked it. Tara didn't, because it was a bit slow for her. I thought some of it was brilliant, as it was this low key, dry British humour, that hits you when you least expect it. The caracacters are funny, and the boss is quite grading on your nerves. Well done, really.

What else? Oh, I finally got the copy of Robotech for the PS2. I really like it. That's going to be a fun game to play. Also, I bought Medal of Honor- Frontlines. Quite intense.

Thoughts for the day? Um...Not really.

Saturday, March 27, 2004

Drinks with Trippy. Always fun.

Weekend is going to be pretty chill today. I'll do my work tomorrow.

Here's a picture for Chris

Enjoy.

Friday, March 26, 2004

I'm at Trippy's place.

A few cans of Stella. It's good.

I will respond to Chris' anti-Mac sentiments later...

Ah,

I went out with Jasse last night. A few pints later, I'm home talking to Tara. And the next morning, I have a meeting thats somewhat important, and I can feel a bit of the 'hung-over' feeling kicking in.

And for Chris...

Look at the PC.
It has frozen once again.
Macs are much better.

(a haiku for those who don't know)

Thursday, March 25, 2004

So, it's confirmed. Jasse's coming home tonight. We're going to go chill and have some drinks tonight.

Day's easy. I'm a big hit at work with my treats. New York style Cheesecake, and Turtles Ice Cream bars. Again, when you work with mostly women, it's easy to please. But then again, if it was mostly guys....beer would be more than great!

It's not too bright, but nice. Warmish. I know, this blog should be about my thoughts, not the weather report, but hey....Weather affects my day and how things happen.

I'm in pretty good spirits. Easy, breezy....Or did I speak to soon?

Oh, Chris tried to do a "Mac Attack". Is that the best you have?
Bring it on!!!

Wednesday, March 24, 2004

I just got my 'email' page working...

on the left, it'll say "email me"....

not bad, ol' chap. I'll learn this HTML code soon!

Ah....Jasse's comin' home for a few days. Heather is kickin' in Bowmanville for a while, and so he'll come home and chill with me for a night. Neato.

I wonder if he'll read this before going to work, and bring a PS2 game for me to borrow? hmmm...

A couple of minutes of quiet, which is nice..

Not a bad day...warmer, but cloudy. It's my day to buy treats for the staff at work tomorrow, and I hope that I don't forget. Well, it'll be me on the chopping block.

What else? Friday aft, I have off! woo hoo....

Jasse's comin' in town, which is nice.

Where's non-smoking in Durham? Good question. This was presented by Chris.

I still think Just Desserts is great...and I can't wait until it goes non-smoking.

Back to the grind.

Tuesday, March 23, 2004

Not too much of an exciting day. A bit overcast, chilly, and not too crazy.

Excited to play some XenoSaga, and maybe some other games.

Oh, a while ago, Chris and I were talkin' about old sci-fi shows, and Doctor Who came up. Apparently, they're going to cast the 9th Doctor. Check this out!

And also, the Family Guy is going to be back on the air....sometime in 2005!

I can't find the article about that, but hey...that's fine.

Oh, my boss sucks. It's official. Or, I do. I'm not sure.

Monday, March 22, 2004

Back at work. Not to bad. If I maintain a chill atmosphere, I'll have an easy day.

Sun's out, which always helps.

This morning, I woke up, and was going into my bathroom. It was odd, because I saw this light I haven't seen before. It was the Sun. I actually woke up with the sun already up.

That's always a nice change.

On my way home from work, I want to pick up a PS2 Game. Tara got me a system, and now I need games. So long, social life!

Sunday, March 21, 2004

I just found a cool web-tool. Let's see if I can figure out who's comin' on my site.

What else? Holiday's over.

Steve Little is in town currently. I was hoping to go out for coffee with him, but he was doing his taxes. Oh well. He'll be finished Teacher's college soon, and will be somewhere around.

How does Chris post pictures? I have to ask him.

Oh, Chris has a comments section, so does Sean and Jasse. I'm not doing that.

Getting back to a normal life after Fort Lauderdale/Miami....

Saturday morning, I had to actually brush snow off of my car. Being in a warm climate for a few days really sets your winter clock off...

Anyway, I spent the day lazily watching the Federal New Conservative Leadership Race on CBC. I am not a Conservative at all, but I was always hoping for ol' Tony Clement to win. Unfortunately he came last. Steven Harper is now the new leader of the Conservatives, and I'm not sure how I feel.

I remember back in the day watching the race for who would replace Brian Mulrony, and that's where Kim Campbell took stage. Ah, that was a long time ago.

Again, I like ol' Jean. I miss the lil' guy from Shawinigan. But Martin....I think he's good. Not like Jean good, but different. 'nuff politics.

Sunday....again, lazily watching bad TLC make-over shows.

Friday, March 19, 2004

Tis been a long time.
Here is the update.

I just got home from a gruelling 36 hour trip. The actual drive is about 30 hours (approx 2900km one way), but we had some stops, and a small adventure in CoCo Beach.

So, Here's where I left off...

Monday Evening -
Krishna, his friend Noble, Marcus and I went out to Fort Lauderdale to drink. They wanted to take me to the 'beach strip' where all the action was. Well, we got there, and we found a bar that had 25 cent draughts, so we kept buying beer. After that, we sauntered around from bar to bar and ended up in a club with lots of dancing, and hootchie-mammas from all over. We stayed there for a while, and then decided to check out the 'boxing match' at another bar, and after was the Wet T-Shirt Contest. Now, seeing this stuff on movies, and TV, I would have never believed it, but lo and behold..here it was. The girl that won would get to take home quite a bit of cash, and the winners were determined by the amount of noise the crowd made in how well they could wear their wet t-shirt.

As one would imagine (or want to imagine) drunk girls who want to win would show off as much as they could to win. Not only was it the shirts that were wet, but the whole ensemble. Two words. IN SANE.

Tuesday
My Dad and I made it out to Miami to visit one of his 2nd cousins. This woman, who is as old as my dad is actually the daughter of his cousin. Anyway, she and her husband and 4 kids live right in the middle of Miami. When I say in the middle, we could (and did) walk down to the beach (and by beach, I mean South Beach...as in...the infamous one on TV). She's really nice, and fed us, and showed us around. My dad and I kinda chilled around, and walked around. I couldn't believe what I saw. Every single car one could imagine seeing in a super-rich place was there. I saw 2 Bentleys, more Hummers than I could shake a stick at, Ferrari, Porshe, Mercs...you name it...it was there, and Pimped out to boot.

Tuesday night
Krishna had to do some work for his Girlfriend's mother, so he came a bit late. After, we went to a bar....and let's just call it "amateur night". 'nuff said.

Wednesday
This day, my dad and I went back into Miami, as we were determined to swim in the ocean. His cousin warned us that it might be a bit cold...but that's cold for them. Us Canucks can take a nice cold dip in a lake. Well, before we got there, we were taken on a tour of Miami, where all the rich people live. I saw the island that Oprah has a house or something on. Apparently to buy a condo in Miami is not too bad. A little less than Toronto, but I think because there are more being built. Anyway, my dad and I went on the beach, and jumped in the ocean. Man, was that great. It's been almost 3 years since I've been in a Salt-water Ocean (last time was Taiwan...and I almost got pulled in by the under-currents). Chillin'' on the beach, i pulled out my handy-dandy Boddington's Thermometer, and it said "32C". Just to be mean (I'm sorry Tara, I couldn't help it...), I called Tara, and left a message on where I was, and how hot it was. I understand it was a bit chilly that day in the Big Smoke.

Wednesday night - St. Patty's Day.
Ugh....lots and lots of beer. Dancing until 4:30am. Denny's lunch at 5:00am, and home at 6:00am.

what happened in between? Just drinking and drinking. Crazy huge Street party. Again, how one would imagine St. Patty's day in a Drinking town, is exactly what it was. again....'nuff said'.

Thursday morn
8:30am - Got up and got ready to leave for home. My dad was laughing because he knew what time I got home, and what time we were to leave. I'm Glad he drove.

Thursday lunch (approx 12:52pm) - Not sure if I can say. My Dad asked to not tell anyone what happened. I don't see a problem. Let's just say that a certain part of the car popped, and we had to drive around CoCo Beach to look for a replacement. Total detour - 2.75 hours. We were back on the I-95N by 3:40pm.

And after that, the drive straight home.

I got home Friday night at 9:00, and chilled with my mom and had dinner. I talked to Tara and decided that I need a hair-cut on Saturday morn.

And that brings us to here....in which I'm quite tired, and my lack of command of the English language would be more apparent here. Maybe I should get Chris to be my 'biographer', and he could write good things about me?

again....'nuff said.

Monday, March 15, 2004

I'm going to wander NSU. It's hot, so I'm gonna be ducking into buildings every so often. I wonder if I can find a place to get some water?

I'm still a bit 'hung' from last night.

RAWL's FLORIDA TRIP continued. Part 2 - Just to break up the Read.

You should read the one before this first. I just didn't want to put a million pieces of text at you all at once.

So, Today's the Ides of March! My birthday. Happy Birthday to me!

Right now, I'm at Krishna's school, in the computer lab. It's really nice, as it's a private university, and really posh. It's Nova Southeastern University. Krishna is doing some kind of Finance Programme, and so he's got 'banking practices' today. After, I don't know what we're doing.

This campus seems really nice. The Buildings are beautiful, and the student body are what one would expect at a Florida Private University. 'Nuff Said.

Oh, it's really hot. How hot? 82 degrees F. What's that in Celsius? It's about 28 C. Which is quite hot. Ugh...Humid too.

Here's the News...

RAWL's FLORIDA UPDATE- sorry for the delay..

So, my dad and I left Saturday morning at approximately 1:20am. We drove, and got into the United States of America about 4:00, and things were good. The only hold up was at the border, where the Guards wanted me to take my Guitar out and show them that it was a real Guitar. What was funny (Scary at the time) was that when I took it out of the car, and put it on the ground, I went to open it, and I noticed that the guard has his hand on his gun, ready for action. I can understand why with all the craziness in the world, but it's not fun when you are thought to be bad.

What else? Snow, Snow, Snow. My dad wanted me to drive, so I drove the northeastern part of New York in the worst snow I've seen, ever. Y'know when you're driving and the snow is really bad and you can't see the road? I wished for that. The snow was so bad, and new, that I didn't know where the road was. I was the first one on this road, making tracks. Unreal. And in the states, most of the roads have the reflectors to show you, but in the snow, my lights were reflecting off the snowflakes. A bit scary for about 2 hours.

After that, it was pretty smooth sailing. As we got further south, we noticed more and more greeen. The trees were slowly getting more lush, and the heat was slowly rising. THe drive through Virginia, North and South Carolina, and Georgia were not too eventful. Nice places, but not my idea of where I would like to live.

My Dad and I estimated wrong for the time, and even when people say "Drivin' to Florida? yeah, it's about 24 hours!". My Foot, 24 hours. To the Florida border it's 24 hours. But to get down to Fort Lauderdale, that was about 6 hours alone!

Anyway, by this point (it's about 28 hours on the road for us, as we've been stopping for lunch, gas, etc., we decided to take a rest at a stop outside Jacksonville Fla. We slept in the car for a few hours, and then my Dad picked up driving. I kept sleeping.

Well, we got to Fort Lauderdale about 10:00am on Sunday morning. Not bad. My Cousins are extremely hospitable, and made us feel right at home. My cousin, Krishna (he's about 24) goes to school in Fort Lauderdale, and he took me out for some fun.

So, at about 2:00pm, my cousin, Krishna and I go to an event in the city called "Unite-a-Fest". It's basically a Cultural Indo-Caribbean event to showcase the islands. Lots of food, and lots of beer. My cousin and I basically walked around, listened to live bands, and drank. It was a blast. There was a parade (kinda like a mini Caribana in T.O), and we just jumped in and started to dance. Man, was that a blast.

After that, Krishna had to go to work, so he took me back home, and he went to work. I took a nice shower, and a nap. 30 minutes later, Krishna came back, and said "Well, my boss let me out early, let's go finish what we started this morning!". And back out we went. More drinking, and partying with the Lauderdalians. At the Uni-Fest, beer was like $4, but across the street, you could buy it from a 'drive-through' window for $1.50. We kept buying beer and walking for re-fills.

Not since Taiwan, have I had this freedom to drink. You could walk around with beer and nobody really cares. The Uni-fest Security only made sure that you had no bottles, only cups or plastic containers.

Anyway, the concert at Uni-fest was amazing. The top Soca, Reggea and calypso bands were there. It started to rain during the concert, but since everybody didn't care, we all got wet. I was soaked from head to foot at the end. My poor Simples are currently drying on a deck.

Basically beer, parades, parties have met me since I've been here. And I've only been here for just over 24 hours. It's gonna be good.

Oh, A few firsts for me yesterday....
1. Just jumping in a parade, and going to front with the 'leader' and leading the parade.
2. Drinking from a brown paper bag. When I bought my beer, the guy put it in a brown paper bag. I was drinking it from that. So Ghetto. So fun.

Friday, March 12, 2004

I am about 80% packed right now. It's just the small things, and the laundry for the last minute things to pack.

I wanna take a shower and brush my teeth before I go, so packing that stuff would be bad.

Um, I'm excited. I got 3-12's of beer for my family in Florida. Sleeman Steam, Sleemam Cream Ale, and Keiths. I was gonna get a 6 of 50, but I figure that too much Canadian beer would be mean...

iBook is packed, iPod is charging, digital cam is ready to go, and my good ol' Palm is ready to be hauled.

Speaking of which, I wanted to get a new Palm, but I can't justify spending the money on a new one. My little Palm IIIxe is actually perfect for everything I need it to do. It's got 8mb of ram, but I'm only holding numbers, agenda, and some other stuff. Text stuff does not take up space. Oh well. I wanna see how long she'll last.

And for the record, Yes...I'll miss you, Tara. Enjoy your time home with your 'Bubbie', and chillin' in the big smoke with a lil' ol' gal from the Sault.

Last day before the March Break. I can tell at work that it's way past the critical mass in terms of stress.

The whole staff is a bit wonky, and it's nice. Everybody is kickin' back, and enjoying the day.

What else? I gotta pack. Don't tell my Dad (shhhhhhh!). I said I was half way packed, but I haven't even started.

I will try to post from Fort Lauderdale, and even maybe post pics...I'll try to link to my other site, which I have other things on, but I'll put a link when the time comes.

woo haa.

Thursday, March 11, 2004

Just got back from tea with Tara. We went to the Grocery Store to pick up some stuff, and then to Chapters, and then for tea!

At Chapters, I have a $34 credit for something in the store. Every time I go in with Tara or somebody else, I never know what to get. There are a few books I was thinking, but nothing really strikes me as "Yes, Get this Book".

I'm thinking of getting the Noam Chomsky book about 'Hegemony or Survival', but I'm not sure if I'm ready for such an undertaking. I really like Chomsky's stuff, and maybe I should start with his little readers first. I dunno.

But yes, Saturday morn, My Dad and I leave for Fort Lauderdale. I know he's more excited than I am, as he's been pining over maps and stuff for a while.

This trip, as opposed to my Kearney Adventure will be easier to pack for, and more fun.

I will be takin' my snorkeling equipment, iBook, iPod, Digital Camera, Guitar, some CD's, some Blank CD's, some work, and clothes. The Weather Network says that in Fort Lauderdale, it's gonna be like 25 degrees at least.

It'll be nice to have that. I snicker at my friends who are staying. But I care not, as this is something that I've never done. I've never gone to a warm place during winter.

Ha! Ha! to all. And to all, a good HA!

Just a quick note, before the natives get restless...

A thought I had driving home from work...

The hand that pats you on the ass is the same one that will slap you in the face.

Wednesday, March 10, 2004

Well, a few moments during the hectic day.

I have to wonder, who wrote the book of love? hee hee hee....naw, but seriously, When is it when you realize that you like a certain sex?

For whatever reason, I am talking about thoughts about the opposite sex. What do people think when they were little (5-6 years old) and now.

I know most people when you're young are shy to admit you like girls (or if your girl, you like guys). But what about those who like people of the same sex? When does that realization come? Or does it? I know it happens, but it's when you admit to yourself about that.

In this day and age, (it's getting better, but it's still not good) that if you are inclined to enjoy those of a similar sex, you're looked at differently. I like to think that society is past that, but not everyone. Like racism, homophobia is still pretty strong.

This issue was touched on in Train 48 last night. Oh wait...Did I admit that???

o.k..that's about it for my rant.

Tuesday, March 09, 2004

Ah...Tea with Chris.

Nothing new to report. Chris and I were talking about blogging, games, and other neat stuff. Not a geek-out like Tara claimed it would be.

Chris and I are trying to plan something for May 24 weekend. We're not sure what it will be, but if anyone who's reading has an idea, let us know.

Today was not really eventful. Not too boring, but not exactly fun-filled. I would declare today a Status Quo kinda day. Again, I want more of these days, as it's a lot easier to handle.

I'm sorry. not the most exciting entry.

But, I'm getting hyped for Saturday. Fort Lauderdale......My dad and I. I'm looking forward to the drive with my dad. It'll be us, 20 hours in the car!

Monday, March 08, 2004

Ugh, don't you hate bringing work home and doing?

What's even worse is correcting someone else's mistakes. I'm not. I was thinking I should, but why? I always do it.

Nothing new to report. Rick Mercer's Monday night report was good, and that's about it.

Oh, 4 more days, and my dad and I go to Fort Lauderdale. We're going to drive Saturday morning (Friday night...Really) and head for the March Break. I'm getting excited. What am I going to do there? Don't know, but I don't really care.

It'll be warm!

Sunday, March 07, 2004

Just an Update...

I tried something. I did a search for 'rawlio' on Google, and my page comes up, which is pretty cool.

What's neat is that Chris Talbot's site comes up too.

What isn't cool is that I clicked the 'Similar pages' button, and I got all this Lawn Bowling stuff. I'm kinda curious as to how that would be similar? Maybe for the amount of interest it generates? Who knows?

Well, we didn't end up going flying. The winds were a bit too strong, and so we were grounded. Oh well. I know Brad was disappointed because he wanted to fly, and I did too, but if the option was to push the envelope with high chance of crashing, I'm glad we cautioned on the side of living. Lots of times to go flying.

Instead, Brad and I had a few beers, and were joined by his friend Dave West. Dave's a cool guy. Funny, and very much like George Costanza. What's even funnier is that on Friday I got accused of being George, but in fact, my actions would have dictated that I was Jerry.

As well, Ben Sommers joined us to watch the Hockey game, and then we went out for a few drinks at a local Watering Establishment. All in all, it was a fun night.

Hightlight of the evening? Nothing really. Just hanging with friends and telling stories.

Saturday, March 06, 2004

Saturday morning. Trippy called me, and said it's a bit too early to tell if we can fly. If the weather gets bad, we don't fly. If the weather gets good, we fly.

It'll be Tripp's first flight as a pilot. Some say I'm stupid to go with him on his first flight. I say I'm honoured. I never was afraid when he drove his cars (at whatever speeds...), and I trust him in the air. I can't wait.

Oh, update on Steve Campbell: He got the job at the Royal York. He's now the 2nd Chef in their kitchen! He's a bit skeptical about it, but hey, why not? It'll keep him on his toes, providing he doesn't cut those off!

And Chris Talbot is now a writer for "N-advanced". I assume it's a Video Game site to review video games. Good for Chris. I always thought he was jonesin' to get back into the Gaming industry.

For those of you who don't know, Chris used to be the editor for Total Gamer. Out of anyone with a cool job, it was Chris. He's the guy you brag about (only to your male friends...). Not only does he get to play games for a living, he gets them for free! He wrote about them, and got to tell his opinion of them. There are only a few better jobs than that: King, Prince, Governor-General (apparently you get to take $5 million trips!) (Apologies to the honorable Adrienne Clarkson, but c'mon...I think you're great, but that was a bit much!), and maybe Dancer (What Do you want to do when you grow up? I just wanna Dance!).

And for Tara: I've made my mind up about Mamma Mia: I liked it. It was fun, campy, kitchy entertainment. I think if we had gone alone, it would have been better.

Just got back from Mamma Mia. What did I think? Not sure. Kitch is what comes to mind.

I have to be careful, as I've just recently seen rome and Jules, which was a modern hip-hop play. Mamma Mia is pretty easy in terms of understanding, but not bad....But not great.

I'm a bit set off how they jammed the songs into the story, in which they wrote around to make them fit. Maybe it works, but to me it's like mashing the puzzle pieces together to fit. Sure, it will stay, but it doesn't look right.

One nice thing about the play was that it starred Kim Huffman. I remember having a crush on her in university when she was on Traders. Now, she's on a musical. Ah, my girls return...

Who are my girls? I lost Liza Fromer, but this is not a great photo. I used to stay a bit in the morning to catch her on the Weather channel in High school, and then she left for years. Now, Kim..She's come back to me!

O.k., maybe a bit creepy, but hey...

Thursday, March 04, 2004

Holy Makinaw!

Leafs were amazing. Leetch was insane, and apparently I saw things that don't ever happen in a game.

I went with Tripp, and some of his friends (but they sat somewhere else). The seats were great. My friend Scott Woodland gave 'em to me, and said that they were near the back. But still, you could see everything. It was incredible.

The Ref got hit...Twice,and there were a few fights, and the Islanders were just awful! 6-1, was the score. Not usually does a NHL team get such a high score.

Oh, someone once told me that Tie Domi has got a huge head. I never realized until I saw him playing. Man, from my seats like 200 m away, I was commenting..."man, that guy's head is big!"

Brad said..."Yeah, it's Domi. Huge, isnt' it?!?"

oh well...

for Tara, the one and only:

GO LEAFS GO ! ! !(color=blue)

Day was o.k.

Nothing too exciting. I'm kinda waiting to leave so I can grab the Train to go to the Leaf's game tonight.

It's gonna be good.

Check this out: Thurs-Leafs, Fri-Mamma Mia, Sat-Flying with Tripp & drink until we can't walk.

Cool.

Tuesday, March 02, 2004

Holy Crap.

I had an idea, that was offered to me. Some people found out, told my boss and jumped to conclusions on what I was doing, and I get sideswiped this evening.

My boss says:

"You could propose that, but I'll be against you"

I woudn't go against my superiors in a meeting with others, as I believe you have too show solidarity.

My boss won't support me.

I asked "if I don't have your support in this endevour, I won't propose it."

"Well, if you do, I won't support it."

Hmmm...What the fcuk?

Why is it that people want new and exciting ideas, but when you try anything, they don't help, and revert back to the old conservative ways?

"We want change (but we're afraid to try anything new)"

Oh, I know I spelled 'fcuk' wrong.

O.k, two things...

One: I'm a week behind in my MacLean's reading, so this pertains to last weeks issue. They had an article about the iPod, and how good it is. I have to say I'm quite proud of it, and that I feel that I'm not left in the dark buying an iPod. Given, my iPod is the 2nd Generation, and a little bigger than the nicer iPods out today, but still, I would not give it up for anything. I even called it the iRawl. When I hook it up to my iBook, it says "iRawl". And a really cool thought about Apple; Mac users are generally highly educated and creative types. Take that, PC's and Microsoft!

Two: Jasse's in town (well, GTA/Durham region) for a few days, because Heather's grandfather passed away. It was nice to chill with Angeli last night. But I have to be selfish here. He's not online, and I can't email him during the day to see what's up.

I miss him...not being right at my fingertips. I like technology for that. However, I have no qualms about giving it up every so often to 'cleanse' myself.

Did I do it at Kearney? Nope. I had more electronic toys than usual. But different circumstances. When you're responsible for 34 people, you tend to carry more than usual.

My friend Scott Woodland had extra Leaf tickets, so he offered them to me.

They're for this Thursday, and it's the Leafs Vs. the Islanders. It should be fun. I'm going to go with Brad, so I'm pretty happy about that.

Today, Jasse, Heather and Angeli came over for dinner. It was fun to play with Angeli, while she ate, and made a huge mess. Sometimes, I wish I could have that much fun playing with my food.

Other than that, pretty non-eventful day. I think I'll call this day....Status Quo Day.
