Rain, rain and work.
Back to the grind of things. Not really a bad day. Tomorrow at work, I'm beginning a project that I've been putting off for the whole year. I'm pretty much psyched up to do it, and so I hope it goes off without too much problems.
What else? It's nice to know that people miss me. For Brad, Sean, Steve, Steve and whoever else reads this, I'm sorry for the delays in blogging, or even calls/emails. Last week was quite busy, and this is going to be a nutty time. Things will get less hectic after June 14. Let's just say a huge 'year end' project is due June 14, foe which all of my work will be complete. The trick is getting to June 14th without losing a limb or something.
Rain? Jeeze....Too much. Really wet.
What else? I've got some things to email to people, but I'll do that tomorrow. Read and chill are tonight's agenda.
Also, what's upsetting, is that I have the season finale of Enterprise on tape, and I've yet to watch it. Yes, it's killing me, but it'll kill me to watch it now....Well, it won't kill me now, but I'll hurt quite a bit the next day.
ugh.....Too much work, to little time.

I'm back, Sean. Thanks for noticing
Howdy. 'Tis been a while, and by the title of Sean's latest entry, yes, it's been a while.
What happened? Lots. Let's see. First, Wednesday was Dragon Boat Practice, which was fun. I made a milestone, and did not stop during the long hauls of about 4 minutes. Now, 4 minutes sounds short, but the activity you're doing is tough for 4 minutes.
Thursday, I had to get my equipment for my open water on the weekend, and I went out and chilled with Tara since I wouldn't be around. I got home late, and was really tired, so I went to bed.
Friday, I had to go somewhere, so I took the day off. 'nuff said.
Then I headed off to pick up a friend who I met through SCUBA lessons, and we headed up to Georgian Bay to do our Open water test.
Weekend
All weekend, I went diving. I passed my Open water test without too much difficulty (I was underweight...). I did a wreak dive (seeing a wreak), and some cool rock faces under the water. It was all quite amazing.
admittedly, on the Saturday, it was a bit difficult to do, as I was a bit freaked out, but once the initial shock wore off, it was amazing. Sunday was quite fun, as I wasn't focused on being tested, as opposed to just gauntly swimming under the water, enjoying the views.
At some points, I did feel like neon in 'Finding neon' because I was at a drop-off under water, and I would look out, and see just green. No shapes, nothing. Just a Green abyss. Kind scary, as you don't know how deep, and If you're learning to dive, or inexperienced, deep is really, really bad.
I got home without a hitch, and chatted with Tara a bit.
Rentals in the Beaches? Hmm...
Is that o.k, Sean?

Happy Birthday Victoria (and you too, Vicki)
Ah, the end of the long weekend. 'Twas good, in my humble opinion. Tara and I went to Waterloo this past weekend, and chilled. It was nice.
We stayed in a country inn called the Waterloo Hotel in Downtown Waterloo. We saw Jasse Friday night, and then Saturday morning, we went back to see Angeli and Heather. It was nice. Angeli is walking, and is quite entertaining.
Then Tara and I went to St. Jacobs to see the Mennonites. Tara was truly horrified by the event, and couldn't wait to leave. I liked it. However, we went to see a 'Multi-media Mennonite' Presentation about the history and and culture of the Mennonites. Let's just say that I am not as gung-ho as I used to be about the pious nature of the Mennonites. When in a 'multi-media' presentation a Mennonite says; "Well, if we don't feel like taking the horse and buggy to the market, we'll take our car. Or, we'll get a friend to drive us," I don't think they're as hard core as they are thought to be.
What else? After that, I had a massage and haircut, while Tara took a nap.
At this point, we took drive around Waterloo/Kitchener just to see what's up and if there are any interesting places to visit.
Not finding anything, we went to eat at some funky restaurant, and then came back home to relax.
Sunday, we went to Stratford to see Macbeth. We got to Stratford quite early, so we ended up walking around and enjoying the town.
I have to say that the Stratford people did it again, and put on an amazing performance. Again, I'm a bit disappointed I didn't get tickets for the count of Monte Cristo, but that'll have to be in the summer. Again, it is something I vow....
Which brings me to Monday. Ah, nice, relaxing easy Monday.
I'm not doing anything. Just relaxing, and that's about it.
Oh, I got 3 comics from Waterloo. I'll do a synopsis later. I got GI Joe, GI Joe & Transformers (new storyline), and TMNT (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). Again, I read all of them, and I'm quite excited.

Long Weekend, interesting information, and Macbeth.
Well, it's been an o.k few days. I didn't really do much on Wednesday to note, but today, I am getting ready to go to Waterloo with Tara for the weekend.
As well, on Sunday, we're going to kick down to Stratford to catch Macbeth. It should be good. Again, as I've always said, Stratford is the only place to go see theatre.
I'll be also visiting Jasse and Angeli, which will be nice. It's been a while since I've seen them, and I wanna see Angeli walk.
Interesting information: Without getting into too much detail, I found out that more people feel the way I do about someone I work with. It's just comforting that I'm not the only one who feels this way. I just realized that they are better at hiding it.
So, the question goes as such: If you dislike someone, do you tell them, or do you pretend to like them?
Again, Ethics will come up here. What is better? To be honest, or to save someone some grief, and 'white-lie' to them?
Speaking from a Socratic preference, I would say that truth is the way to go, and tell that person. Truth is the only way.
Wasn't a Grecian Urn that said "Truth is beauty, Beauty Truth"?
Who knows?

Friends, drinks,past times
...or, Should I confront a past Demon?,
Well, Tonight I met up with Jason Berei. It was good to see him again. It was a long time since I last saw him (I was 16), and so a lot has happened since that last meeting. It was Chris, Jason and I, just remembering old times...
Basically, I found out what happened to him. He did really well for himself. He's got a wife, daughter and a house. Also, he was a philosophy major, which I think was cool. Man, I did have some instinct about people back then. Philosophy majors need to stick together.
Anyway, Jason mentioned the name of someone from my past who in large part responsible for me coming at certain groups with a vengeance. I was once put in a place where this guy completely picked apart my entire existence, and left me in pieces. It took me almost a year to get back to my old self. And in that year, I vowed (yes, a very strong word) to never let myself be put in that position. I read many books, and took in a lot of materials to always be armed with information if ever this situation arose.
Luckily, it has never. Once in a while, it did come close, but not exactly.
So, Jason told me that this guy says hi. I told him my story, and I said that I have quite a bit to say to this guy. However, 12 years is a long time, and Jason assures me he has completely changed.
What's funny, is that I haven't seen Jason in 12 years, but I feel that I can trust him on this.
I think I would be ready to forgive. I have to thank this guy for what he did. Maybe the world does work in mysterious ways?

No title for this entry.
Troops are getting restless. When you're forced to do something for 5 days, and you don't want to, you get a bit wacky.
'nuff said.
So far, no time to call Stratford for the Tickets. Hopefully soon today.

EQual And Opportunistic (Pt.2)
Monday morning, and things are back to the grindstone, well, as much as they could be.
It's funny when outside contractors come in to do a certain task, they expect you to re-arrange your schedule to fit theirs. As well, if you choose to do something because it's best for all parties involved, and they don't see the reason, you're the bad one.
Life is funny that way.
Anything else new? SCUBA was fun last night. My right ear is still kinda blocked from the pressure, but that'll be taken care of by nature.
And hopefully I can book some Tickets to see Stratford's Count of Monte Cristo for this weekend. I'm totally looking forward to this. The book was incredible, and the movie was not great.
Woo hoo...

New Beginnings
So, this afternoon, we got a new fish to replace Big Fish. He'll be the new Big Fish II. Again, Big fish will not be forgotten.
What else? Friday night, Tara and I went to see "Breakin' all the Rules". Not a bad movie. It had this kinda strange surreal intellectual feel for most of it. It was a pleasant surprise of a movie that I was expecting to appeal to the lowest common denominator.
Saturday, I relaxed, and then Tara and I went out to a 'keg' party. Again, this was put on by a friend, and it was an 'adult' keg party, as in the people who were there were not the 'kegger' types. People were generally tame, and I had only 1 1/2 cups, as it was going down way too smooth.
After, We came back to my place and we watched the Season Finale of Saturday Night Live. The Guest hosts were Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen.
It was o.k. What was shocking was that it was Jimmy Falon's Last Show. It'll be interesting to see what he does now.
Anything else? Tonight is the Pool Practice for SCUBA diving. I've got my test in 2 weeks, and it'll be down by Innerkip. I'm excited, as I think I'll be diving quite a bit this summer.
And a note worth mentioning....
Tara organized a weekend away! Yippee Skippy. We're going away for May 24!

Sad news for the Chan Family
At approx. 6:10am on May 14th, 2004, Gosford "Big Fish" Chan passed away. Last night, Big Fish (as she's known to her friends) was not swimming well. My mom and I quickly revived her, and by the end of the evening, Big Fish was back to her normal usual self.
This morning, Big Fish was barely breathing, and My Dad, Mom and I witnessed Big Fish's last few inhales of breath, and then stop.
For those who don't know the significance of Big Fish will not understand how tragic this is. We have had this fish for about 9 years. Big Fish was 40cm in length. This fish is part of our family. Like the family dog, this was our family pet. This fish would play with people, let you pet her, and even show off for guests.
We will remember Big Fish. So Long, old Pal.

New Stuff
O.k, not really new stuff, but I just wanted to say that. Can I say how hot it is today? Damn....It's hot. It's hotter than...Well, y'know.
Anything new? Not really. I went to a workshop, and it was o.k. I was sitting with a co-worker, who was telling me Play-by-play how this 'workshop/buy my stuff' works. What was interesting, was that he was 100% correct. I'm not saying this guy is any genius, but he's pretty astute in terms of business things like this. Also, it was things you could figure out yourself, but if you don't put 2 and 2 together, you'll not see 4.
As well, this heat is making me tired. I have to re-do my summer wardrobe, as cotton shirts don't quite cut it in this temperature.
O.k, I'm just complaining.
Hot Days, lazy days, and chillin' in the heat
Sorry for the not posting last night. Here's what I did. Last night was Dragon boat Practice. Really good. I was hurting from the practice. I thought my shoulders were going to fall off.
After, I went for a pint with the rest of the crew, which was nice. It's nice to just be people around others after a gruelling practice.
After, I came home, and chatted with Tara after I ate Dinner. It was nice because I had taped Enterprise and got to watch it.
Wow....Is all I'm going to say.
O.k.
things are getting restless.

EQual And Opportunistic (Pt 1)
Well, I'm sitting at work, just chilling. I can't do anything, but watch.
Ugh...It's a nice day, and they are mowing the grass. I do miss that smell. To me, it's the beginning of summer. Or, more specifically, the end of Winter.
It'll be nice and warm for Dragon Boat.

New Changes
Naw, I'm not going to switch the skins on my blog...Just yet. I'm still in the market for getting my own Web-space and so hopefully I can design my own.
Jasse switched his...Which is pretty cool. At first I thought he stayed home, and got really good on Photoshop, or some other programme....But no...Just bored.
Today? I was outside all day. It was nice, but I'm still trying to get hydrated.
What else? I got an email from a friend I lost track of a long time ago. He's been reading this, which is either good or bad. I'll choose the former. Hi Jason. Long time no see.
I realized that I should have some interesting tidbit of information, or something to be sort of topical, but I'm still working on that.
My own musings are not really exciting? Or are they?
Oh, Wednesday, Dragon Boat!!! I'm excited about that. And the weather looks like it'll be warm, which will be good. Now, I'm only used to dressing in the cold and rain for this, so hot and humid will not be good...I'll have to figure out something.
Monday, May 10, 2004
Well, it's getting late, and I'm starting to fade.
Tonight, Tara came over, and she went on some errands I had to do. Unfortunately, I could not complete mine, but Tara did some shopping, and found what she was looking for.
Today, not bad. I'm quite impressed with the afternoon, especially when I can feel the humidity coming through the windows. All my papers were damp.
What else? More tomorrow.

Happy Mother's Day
Interesting. It seems Blogger has changed their views. It looks nice. It's almost like a Netscape/Gecko skin. I'm likin' it.
Today, chilled, and hung out with my mom. It's her day. What else? I did some work, and chilled.
I went out with Alex Mahy for a pint/tea tonight. It was nice to see him again. I went to his house, and saw his family. It's been a while, and it was nice to see his mom, sister, brother and grandmother. When I was in high school, I knew the family well. So, Alex and I just chatted, and caught up on things going on in life. I'm quite happy, as he's going to be finishing college (finally!!!) and getting into University. He's trying to get into Trent U. for Philosphy. Wow. For me, next to going to UWO for Phil, I would have wanted to go Trent for that.
Bleh....it's going to be a boring week. Be prepared to see numerous posts...

Saturday Afternoon, and it's raining. It was a good Friday, and interesting evening.
I went to Pool Practice for Dragon Boat Paddling. There weren't many of us there, but it was nice to get down technique. What's kinda neat, is that there are these three interesting girls that only talk to each other. For the past few practices, they kinda sneer at others, and only chat with each other. Last night, they actually talked to me, and we had a good conversation. I have to admit I thought they were snobs, but now, no...They're pretty cool. But then again, if they had never talked to me, my opinion would have held. Oh well. Such is life.
After, I picked up Tara, and we went to her friend's place, Liezl and Alan. It was a get-together for Alan, for his birthday. It was fun. We chilled and talked. It was fun to share stories and stuff with others. Alan's boss (or team lead as he puts it) was there, and she was funny. She had some kind of accent when she got excited...And it's been buggin' me on where the accent was from. It's somewhere in Europe, but not a big country. Maybe like an Eastern Block/Mediterranean kinda thing...I think.
Today, just chilled, went to the mall, and got my oil changed. Ah, Takin' care of the car...She's gotta last me a while now!
Tonight, Tara and I are planning on going to see a movie. I wanted to see that movie with Jim Carey, and how he wants his memory erased, but Tara doesn't want to see it. So, the next best one is Van Helsing. (woo Hoo!!!) I actually thought she'll want to see a deep, 'mature' movie, but hey...I'm good. I would have actually preferred Van Helsing, but that's just me.
I'll give my movie review tomorrow.
oh...Update: I'm not as sore, but I can feel it in my back right shoulder-blade.

Hey,
So, Tea with Chris Talbot tonight. This time, we didn't geek out. I'm quite impressed. O.k, maybe a little, but not much. It was more on Politics, and other sorta neat stuff.
Anything exciting? Nothing really worth mentioning. DVD's, and other cool stuff. That's about it. Again, it's nice to get out and just chat with friends. Also, again, my endorsement for Just Desserts. Amazing. However, Hanifa (who's the owner) was not there, or she was hiding. Strange, very strange!
What else? It's getting busy at work. I've got a workshop tomorrow in the morning, and I've got some kind of performance next Monday. I have to sing something and I've yet to nail down a song for sure. Oh well. I'm sure something will come up.
Still sore from Dragon Boat, if you're curious.
And Steve Little, if you're reading this...Hey...Congrats for finishing school...Both you and Vicki (Your Fiance)! And just to let you know, it's gonna be tough in Toronto finding a job. Apparently there are more people than jobs right now. What's that mean to those who don't get jobs? Dunno. Hang tight, and we'll see.
Jasse, if you're reading this....I need to go to the mall on Saturday to get a present for mom.
for the rest...Did you get your mother's day present?
Brad, how's the Alcohol hiatus? I'm hoping good. Keep the faith. You can do it.
Ady or Ben...Do you even read this?
Shawna, it's been a while. What's up?

Just a quick entry.
Dragon boat practice was the best so far. Good as in we actually practiced, and I'm in quite a bit of pain right now. Not bad pain, but good pain.
The weather was good for a change, and it was a few less people than normal, which was o.k, but it would have been nice to have the full boat.
Today? O.k, not bad. If things went how I planned, I would hope that it would be Satisfactory. If it were good, that would be a pleasant surprise, and if it were poor, It's even better. Why? (Only the pie man knows!!!)
Cliquey bitches suck... But they weren't around today.

Damn...Damn Damn.
Leafs....out. Philly, goes on to play Tampa.
O.k, I still say Tampa bay will take the series..
I just didn't think it'll be against Philly. Oh well.
Day? O.k., I might be slipping past some huge mistake that may or may not be completely my fault. Again, if no-one says anything, I may be scott Free....Who knows?!?
Oh, tonight, I went to rent some gear for my Open-water dive at the end of May. I went to the local Dive Shop here, (Innerspace Dive Shop), and as always, they're super friendly and always helpful. There was this girl in there, who was really cool. I had to rent a Wet-suit, hood, gloves and weights for my dive. It was quite funny to rent this stuff, as You have to try on the wet-suit.
Now, this suit is not your regular kinda thing. It's a 9mm neoprene suit which doesn't really allow for much movement. It's pretty much required to dive in Canada, as we've got some pretty damn cold water.
What's funny is that I'm gonna have to get like 30 lbs of weight to keep me down, as this suit will bring me up.....Just nutty.
Oh, did I mention that May is crazy? It is .
And if I play my cards right, I'll have a Case of Labatt's 50 comin' my way soon!!!
Leafs....out. Philly, goes on to play Tampa.
O.k, I still say Tampa bay will take the series..
I just didn't think it'll be against Philly. Oh well.

So, what's been going on?
Not much, really. Just getting busy. I took some time to myself, to see what work I have to do, and wow...is the next two months really busy. Well, not the next 2 months, but more the next 6 weeks. I have like 6 projects for work that must be complete and I'm doing my Open-water dive at the end of the month. Not to mention, Victoria Day weekend is coming up, and I'll have to do something for that.
Ugh, lots to do.
On a sidenote....Chris' movie night was good. Sunday was o.k, Leafs, Boo hoo, and Tea with Tara on Monday night.
O.k, not the greatest entry, but give me some time.
Oh, I hate evaluations.

Saturday, and I'm doing some work for a friend at work.
One thing with free software, is that it usually doesn't work how you want it to. I have a version of Photoshop for my computer, and it keeps crashing. Not good.
Oh well.
I'm gearing up for the Movie Night at Chris' place. Ed Wood...Plan 9 from outer space. The question is: What happened to the other 8 plans?
Oh, my Dad is now officially retired from his job. He's worked for like 33 years, or something crazy, and so he accepted a retirement package, and has now officially stopped working. I think it may mean more work for me. We'll see.
What else?
Dunno. More later.
