Having an Average day.

Well, for the most part, nothing too exciting.

But, I found this link, which is really funny. For you brown people, or people who want to be brown, take heed: Where not to do Bhangra.

Uninteresting Day...Part 2.

Why part two? Here's why; I typed a whole thing to edit, but I tried some fancy bolding, and it was too bold, and I clicked the 'back' button on my browser (FireFox - A Mozilla joint) and *pouf!* The whole blog was gone!

Oh well. Here's the jist of it...

I read Jasse's blog, and he was quite pleased at how I handled Angeli for the first time alone. Since now I passed the test, hopefully I can take Angeli out for trips and stuff. She's amazing.

What else? I popped into work, and puttered around for spell. It was nice, as I only saw a few people I wanted to. Where I work, I'm in the back corner of the building, so to see me, you have to make an effort. This is good, because it eliminates the 'drop-ins', and the 'pop-bys' of some people.

This aft, just chilled, and chatted with Steve Campbell online for a bit. I don't get to see him much, which is partly my fault, but I'll go out to see him soon.

And just a note: I've noticed that the top two search strings to my blog are Rawl Chan and surprisingly Liza Fromer. Again, I find this very entertaining, as I've only mentioned her in passing, and it gives me hits. Is this a try for hits? Sure, I guess. Especially if I say that Liza Fromer is Sexy.

Insane, isn't it?

Yes, I'm a hit-junkie.

The Chan Summer Jam.

Well, Saturday was the official Chan Summer Jam. It was pretty good. Attendance was as expected, and I think fun was had by all.

I'm quite impressed with myself, as I was responsible for my niece, Angeli. She was amazing. She was fun, happy, and easy to take care of. I know Jasse was worried, but there was nothing to worry about.

Sunday, the end of the Olympics, however, I was watching the Marathon race, and it was lead by Brazil's Vanderlei De Lima, until some moron (apparently a de-frocked irish priest - seriously!) came out and pushed into the crowd. Because of this, he lost like his 40 second lead, and was overtaken by Italy's Baldini. De Lima got a bronze, which was good, but still, it was quite unfortunate that he was 'attacked' during his race. I understand that Brazil is appealing to the IOC to get him a gold medal, as he was pretty much going to win at this point.

Again, Unfortunate.

But the closing ceremonies were good. And so ends another Olympic games.

Hot and humid...

Today, I kinda went into work to do some puttering around. It was fun. I chatted with some people I haven't seen all summer, and then I started talking to the new guy who knows steve. It was good.

Then, I came home, and cleaned up.

O.k, not an exciting day, but this evening, I'm heading to see Scott Thibideau for his bar-be-que. It should be good. He wants me to come over and drink, but I'll be busy on Saturday taking care of Angeli for the Chan Summer Jam.

Oh well.

again, sorry, but I had some time to kill...

What's up today?

I went to a workshop today, and saw some people I've never met. Well, usually when one goes to a place like that, you'll meet people you don't know. However, I met and chatted with 2 of the people I'll be working with, which was nice.

One guy, Dave, I met at a party wearing a fake mustache. Yes...a fake mustache. The workshop was fun, and it was quite the interesting mix of people. Um, wow, that's pretty vague too.

What else? I went out for a drink tonight with a friend from work as well. It's been a while since I've seen him, and he showed me his trip across Canada. It was interesting.

Well, I wish I could write more, but for some reason, I couldn't sleep last night. I was tossing and turning until like 5:30am, and woke up at 6:40am...

ugh....Sleep.

The Topsy-Turvey Day...

So, for the most part, today was o.k. It was full of good and bad, but mostly good. Kinda thing that I would love to discuss right now, but again, like most governments, it's best to wait some time before divulging secrets.

I found out some stuff that I didn't know, and it was o.k, but it'll put a damper on things that I'm planning. (not really, actually, but then again, how more mysterious can I be?)

And the other part went "swimmingly well". Again, some time to divulge what that time was. Let's just say I learned that the Mayas were the people, and Mayan was the language (well, the group of 32 languages). As well, Inca are the people, and Incan is the language. Who knew?

Oh, for Jasse....It's Siobhan.

Last thing...Man, is Dawson's Creek a great show. I catch it on mornings when I get a chance on TBS, and always love it. It may be a purchase for the DVD collection. Or, if anyone who cares is reading...Maybe a nice present? O.k, it's early for Christmas and my birthday is really far away....

Perdita Felicien

I just watched the Woman's 100m Hurdles and Perdita didn't win. She was slated to win, as she has been the fasted woman in that sport yet, but she tripped up and went down.

Admittedly, like every one else in Pickeing, I wanted her to win. Why? Not really because she's Canadian, but she's a Pickering girl. She had the stuff, and one tiny mistake, and she lost it all.

Again, I'm still a big fan of hers. She'll take the Gold in Beijing in 2008. You'll see.

Just relaxing, getting ready for work.

Last night, Chris and I decided to find a new place to frequent. We lost our coffee shop, so now, we're in the market for a new establishment. Wow, are there nothing.

We went to the Second Cup in Ajax, where I remember being not bad 5 years ago. Now, Just a hole. A hole where you would pour your coffee grains in that you don't care. That kinda hole. What was worse, was that it closed at 9:00pm, so we were out of a place to sit.

We ended up back at Chris' place, for lack of better places to go. Ugh, it's going to be a brutal Autumn and Winter.

What else?

I'm closer to my master plan, which shall be revealed sometime soon, like maybe within a month (or less...depending).

And other things are in the works, but I'll wait before I also reveal.

Again, what's up with a blog when you can't spill your guts? Well, more of it is superstition. Do you jinx what you have planned? My first instinct is to stay quiet until all is done.

I'm back!

So, the Cottage was fun. It was cold, but fun. As well, it was nice to have some different people there so we could introduce new types of humour to our already witty atmosphere.

What did we do? We did Canadian Cottage-y things, and canoed, boated, swam, enjoyed, and created new and exciting types of drinks.

Sarah and Hue had their Son, Simon up. What made the cottage exciting was a 3 year old running around, and being himself. What was funny was that it didn't cramp our style whatsoever, and he was just as nutty as any of us. Maybe we're 3 year-olds?

Also, Vicki had her Maid of Honour up as well, so it was nice to meet the wedding party for the Wedding. It'll be a fun time when the wedding finally comes. I don't know if I've mentioned, but I'm the MC at the wedding.

Oh, on Friday morning, Andrew Taylor and I had to go into the mighty town of Mactier to get some stuff. We went in the morning, and were caught in gridlock of this tiny town. Never have we ever encountered traffic in a town of 2000, but somehow, we found it. Strange, but true.

Anything else? Not sure....Not really sure at all.

I'm headin' North!
Well, I had to give my bathroom a 2nd coat this morning, and then I relaxed.

Now, car's packed, everything that i need to take is in the car. All I have left is the food for the cooler, which I 'll do last, and then get some ice.

More on Sunday (or Monday!!!)

Headin' to the Muskoka's...

Today was painting day. I had to help my dad paint the basement stairs, and then a bathroom. The bathroom is not that big, so it wasn't that time consuming. A bit tight at times, but not too bad.

And in the afternoon, I just relaxed, and got everything ready for headin' to Steve's cottage. I bought beer and food, so I should be o.k for a few days. As well, it seems that there will be many people at the cottage, so I think I'll be out in the lawn, in a tent....So, I'm getting my camping stuff ready.

Currently, I'm just downloading some music for the cottage, and chatting with a friend from school, Ryan Klempner. After we finished, he decided to go to Taiwan to Teach, which was not bad. I don't think he had that great a time, but he came back and tried to find jobs here in Ontario. Ryan found something up north, in a Fly-in Community (Fort Hope...), but did not enjoy that, and was back within 6 weeks.

Ryan then got another job in Taiwan, and headed back, in which he was back home within 5 months. I didn't get the whole story, but I'll get it later. Now, he's working Joe-jobs trying to find something substantial.

Poor Ryan, it seems he missed the boat on many jobs, but I think he can find something still. He just has to keep looking. When I finished school, it took me like 2 1/2 months to find something, but I was looking 7 hours a day, 5 days a week. I faxed out over 300 resumes, and for posterity, I still have 'em. Just to remind me that hard work does pay off.

Anyway, I'm heading to Steve's cottage, to relax, and enjoy the outdoors.

I may blog just before I head out, but if not, Enjoy until Sunday!

Relaxing day with Xenosaga.

I did some work this morning, and then relaxed in the afternoon, and then played Xenosaga until like late. Really, it's an epic game that I once wrote about in this blog (I think...), so I am determined to finish it.

Apparently it's like 80+ hours of gameplay, and i'm currently at 6 hours...so, I've got a long way to go.

it's going good. It's like a movie with some action in the middle..which is kinda cool. It's a bit confusing at times, but when you figure out what you're supposed to do, it's all good.

I read in the manual that the music was done by the London Philharmonic, which is kinda cool. I didn't know they would do Video games.

oh well.

Also, I'm researching in my next endevour, which should be interesting if it can pan out.

more on that later.

Not much to report

Last night, I went to see Steve Campbell at his digs. It's funny, as he's downtown, and he didn't want to go out, so he stayed home, but he had no cable, so TV and internet was down....and he was just chillin'. It was nice to go and chat, as it's been a while since I saw him...

and also, since JD closed down, I haven't had much of a chance to talk to him about it. He as well will feel the loss of this great establishment.

Again, sad day in Pickering.

Olympics have started, and I've been watching them. It's nice to see these Canadians perform, however, the amount of stuff they had to go through just to get to Athens is a bit insane. The COC (Canadian Olympic Committee) had really strict rules on who went, and how much money they got. It's sad that we're all gung-ho about our athletes, but are down on them because they don't perform at the level of the other athletes. I don't think it's because they can't, I think it's the facilities for them.

Sure, we only complain come Olympics, but I think we pretty much get out of the Olympics as much as we put in.

Again, those are my 2 cents.

Us last year at the cottage. Posted by Hello

A Flyin' We Will Go?!?

Today, at approx. 3:00pm, Brad, Steve and I will embark on a trip(?) from Toronto Island Airport up to the Muskoka Airport. Why? Why not?

We're bringing cameras, so we should be able to get pictures of Toronto, My house, the Pickering Hindu Temple, and Steve's Cottage, as well as some other interesting things along the way.

If you see a little plane flying north above Toronto, wave! It just might be us!

Good-Bye, Just Desserts.

Chris and I went to go to Just Desserts for tea/coffee tonight, and we found a sign saying that the owners have decided to close shop. They thanked their patrons of 8 years, and wish everybody well.

I myself, am not a happy camper. Where Do I go? I'm lost? I actually don't know what to do?

so many good memories of Just Desserts, and now, its gone.

I know that Hanif and Hanifa don't read this, but if they ever see this...I will miss you.

Enjoyable Wednesday...

Nothing much to report. This morning, I had to take care of some business, and I did. All was successful, and then this aft, I had to some stuff with my dad, which was fun.

then, I'm home, relaxing.

Again, nuthing too exciting.

Here's a question? I think I have the ability to make a decision and pretty much put myself in a position of being financially 'zero'. What that means, is that I don't owe anyone, and things are paid off.

For the most part, that is the goal of most people, to be where they don't owe anything, but again, at what cost?

That is the dilemma I face in the next few weeks. I'll keep you posted, but I'll admit, I'm leaning towards that, as I can set myself up pretty good for the next few years...

Oh, Hotmail really sucks...and MSN is really sucking fast.

My Tires are Fixed!

Well, on Sunday, I found that my front driver side tire was dead, so I called a few places around to see what's up, and if I could get a deal on a new tire. Well, Mechanics advice has been "replace two tires", for wear protection...which I did.

I had to wait a day, but I got a good deal on the tires for my lil' baby.

so, she's sittin' on 2 brand spankin' new tires, which look even better than what she used to have.

I'm happy.

Anything else?

Windy day.

Where Have I been?

Well, for all you who have been very good readers of my blog, I've been away for a few days.

I just want to let you know I'm fine, and that things are going to be o.k.

Anything new?

Steve Little is in town, so that was neat. We went out for a pint, and he was telling me about his plans for his wedding. He's a bit unsure of policy and procedure, so he's asking me, as I've been through one with Jasse's wedding.

Again, lots of stuff.

What else? My little car has a flat, and to replace the tire, it's suggested you replace both tires. So, I've ordered my tires, and am waiting to be called so I can take it in to the shop, and get the new tires on. Ugh..

And Mark's got 2 more days left in the Great white...So Steve and I will be seeing him on Tuesday.

Oh, Diving up in Bala this weekend, should be fun.

Bloggin' on the Road.

I'm in Quebec City right now. Tara's chillin', takin' a shower. I found a port in my room, and voila...I'm bloggin'.

Um, let's see. Last night, we went to see Alex in Colborne. Again, I miss Alex, and I wish he was closer to the City. For those who don't know where colborne is, it's the town on the East side of Toronto with the Big Apple. No joke. Alex lives about 10 minutes from the big apple.

We stayed in the happenin' town of Cornwall. It's not a bad little town, but not a great little town. Tara and I dined at the fine establishment of East Side Mario's. We had the pizza, which was quite delicious. As well, we downed many Cesaers, so it made the experience enjoyable.

Today, we drove from Cornwall to Quebec city, which took longer than one would expect that drive to take. I couldn't believe the amout of Police on the road, clockin' people for speed. As the saying goes....Do like the Romans, I do like the Quebs, and kinda followed them in their speeed, and luckily didn't get caught. Again, I was doing a mighty speed of 112 km/h.

Well, I'm being called. We're going for dinner, and then a 'walking tour' of old haunted Quebec city. Will we see ghosts? who knows?

Jasse: Yeah, it's a Jumbi tour!

Brad/Steve : I'll call you later...

Chris: I'm gonna dissapoint you.

Monday, August 02, 2004

About to head out.

Wow, it's like I'm counting down to leave, or something. To tell the truth, it's because I have nothing else to report. Caribana is done, my 'summer project' is done, and there are 2 Chan Summer Jams comin' up.

I've got a diving trip planned, and maybe some camping...But who knows?

I'm hoping for a Windsor Trip, and maybe an Ottawa Trip, and a Steve's cottage trip, but again, all up in the air.

Next Blog? Maybe from Quebec, maybe from home.

Enjoy....for now.

Headin' out on Monday.

Well, my bags are packed, and I'm ready to go. Yeah, it's gonna be a fun trip. Tara and I are going to go to Quebec City and some other place. What's the other place? Well Eddie, I'm not too sure. It's gonna be 1/2 way from Pickering to Quebec City...That's all I know.

It'll be kinda cool, because EVERYBODY will be kickin' back into the city, while we'll be kickin' out. I'm pretty sure we'll be able to find someplace along the way to stay.

For the most part, there's nuthin' really left.

Maybe a post before I kick, but who knows.

For sure, there'll be on after.

Brad and Steve L.: Yes, I'm going to Quebec City.

Steve C. : how's Work? :)

Chris: Pint or Tea/Coffee when I get back.

Jasse: Hopefully I'll see you on Saturday.

Krishna: You there? Where you at?

Callaloo Won!

Well, I just finished my first fete. Wow, was it fun. Tiring, but fun. I just got a call, and found out my band won! Woo Hoo! that's good, as the guy Marlon Singh did a great job designing, and stuff. It's amazing that all the costumes and floats and stuff are hand made!

What else? Just relaxin' tonight. I might go to the Mas Camp and celebrate! Again, it should be fun.

Is Tara and I gonna leave early? I think so. I might head out tomorrow afternoon. Will I blog from the road?

I shouldn't but I'm gonna take my computer anyway! (shhh!)
