Being places you don't want to be...
So, Direction for this entry? Today started to be pretty good...oh wait, I forgot to say about last night.
So, Dave and I went out for drinks, and just chatted. It's nice to get out and chat with co-workers and not have the conversation dominated by shop-talk. Some is good, but not all.
Today, good. A woman named Santosh at work knows Hindi, and I have asked her to show me some basics, so today was the first lesson. Again, it's quite fun. Will I continue with it? I hope so.
After work, some people were meeting at a restaurant for some drinks and dinner with a past co-worker. It was o.k. Not my choice in venue, but apparently it's for location. I saw 2 people I worked with last year, which was nice, but I'm sad that they are not back this year. Two people that make life fun, because they are quite the characters.
Again, I didn't really want to be there, so I left early with my friend Mr. Bacchus. What's even funnier, is that I don't know his first name. I just call him Bacchus. I'm convinced his first name is Steppus, as that would be really entertaining.
Then Linda and I went to a pub in the evening. It was a pretty cool pub. The music was some guy with a guitar and a million MIDI tracks to accompany him. Who doesn't love Band-in-a-box? We chilled and chatted, and later was joined by a friend of hers. He was a nice guy, but a tad strange. I asked him about why he has to work late so often, to which he replied "well, I was working in Windsor for 7 months, then the wife called and said it was over!"
Whoa! Hold your horses there, mister. I don't' mind doing idle chit-chat, but that's a bit much. I'm not belittling his pain, but to have to deal with that? Yikes.
Oh, and Linda's going Camping this weekend up in Bon Echo. She's going with her geology class (I think) to draw and objectively analyze rocks. Being in Philosophy, I think it's funny that the would make a class draw rocks. WE had to draw Socratic arguments, but that was fun.
Yeah, to make a long story short: I didn't want to go to the restaurant, not because of the people from work, but just the local. And Linda's camping on this weekend that it's supposed to be chilly.
See, it sorta came back and fit into the title.

Lookie Here!!!
Well, actually, look left. Jasse gave me the goods on how to get one of these, so check 'em out!
It'll be a good way to tell my mood. Or, the kind of day I've had.
However, I still kinda like the weather report one, since it's a neat idea.
'nuff said, for now.
Out with a guy from work named Dave. He's new to this part of the city, so I'm takin' him out for a jaunt.

Zim Zimmer! Who's got the Keys to my Bimmer?
Ok, for me, it would be...
Anyway, I got back from the gym, and now I'm just chattin' with Alex. As for the direction for the day? Nuthin.
Rating system for today? Well, it'll have to be based upon some kinda thing...
I'll try to make something that you can follow. Jasse's got this cool thing in which it's based upon his moods. Well, he did have it. If he's in a good mood, he can set it to be good. If he's in a bad mood.
Actually, on second look, he changed his blogsite, so it's not there anymore. I'll look for one anyway.
For now, here's how it'll work.
The system will be based upon 10. 10 being a fantastically amazing day in which some thing phenomenally great happens (like I get something I always wanted!). 1 will be a really sad or bad day, like when you lose something you always wanted, or you're convinced the universe is conspiring with everybody to make your life hell. Which leaves 5, being the Status Quo. Nothing exciting, nor nothing bad.
Today: 6. Slightly above Status quo.
Hey, maybe I'll do the Tom Waits thing, and do an 'emotional weather report'...
Today was clear and sunny, with some clouds, but not enough to enjoy the day, but not too much that it put a damper on things.
That's my scale!
Oh, I'm glad Sean's back. I need to reply to his entry to stay ahead of his Anonymous henchman.

Zev Zevy! Who's got the keys to my Chevy?

What Do I do?
I have two things I want to do. Well, one I want to do, and the other is something I should do. What are they?
I have a meeting with the Ajax SCUBA club, as it's the Fall General Meeting. As well, I would like to go to the gym, because I'm kinda on a roll, and I don't want to put it off.
Can I make it to both? That's the catch. I'm going to try to be in two places at once, well, just shortly.
I most likely can, if I get out now. Bloggin' after work.
Oh, I got my new plants at work. They are Mint plants. Steve Little gave these to me, to grow so I can have fresh Mint Tea. I still think they are a bit young, but I'll try to brew the tea maybe tomorrow.
Do I go out later tonight? Dunno. Let's see.

Go West, where the skies are blue.
I've taken some heat as to the direction of my blog. Someone told me that it seems that my days are kinda boring. As I would usually put it, Status Quo. Now, why wouldn't I report about a status quo day? Well, simply because it's Status Quo.
So, I need direction. Where? Not sure. Some days I'm pointed by the actions and thoughts of the universe to inspire some witty banter. But sometimes, it's hard to come up with such wittisism so often.
Which is why I should start taking notes more often. My friend Chris (who's always mentioned) takes many notes during his days, and often when he's on some new thing. Again, he's a journalist, so he's a lot better than I in this respect. However, I'll again seek out some interesting thing to speak about each day.
Today? I have a co-worker that loves to complain to me about things. Now, I'm not sure if she does it for attention, or just because she genuinely hates the work she does. In my business, if you don't like what you do, you'll have a really difficult and long career. Well, long in terms of that it drags on for years and years, and may even take off years from your life.
Anyway, what's even more interesting, is that she doesn't really look at you when she talks. She has this way of looking at the top left area above (and behind) your head. This, I find, very disconcerting. Who does that? C'mon, really?
Other developments from today? The Statford Festival is soon coming to a close, and I still wish to catch 'The Count of Monte Cristo'. I called the box office, and found that there are some tickets left for the last few days of the show, which made me happy. I'm gonna jump 2 tickets, and find someone to go with me.
Who will I take? Not sure. I'm sure I can find someone willing to go to the finest theatre in Canada (dare I say? I dare!).
Enough, already.
Oh, Sean Wilson seems to be missing. I forget his actual title of Ruler of the world, but I think he's M.I.A.

Here we go, yo! Here we go, Yo. So what, so what's the scenario?
Friday night was quite interesting. Well, not really, but nice to chill. I went over to Trippy's place, and Jeff Paris was there. We chilled, played PS2, and just hung out. It was fun and relaxing.
Saturday, I was babysitting Angeli for most of the day. It was amazing. She was so much fun. Heather and Jasse even let me take her to the beach, which was fun. We didn't go it, as it's cold, but there are some playgrounds and stuff there for kids. I took her on the slides, and the swings, and she had a blast.
Saturday night, I went out to the movies with Linda. We went and saw Fahrenheit 9-11. It was good. I do like Michael Moore, however I have to admit, that seeing a documentary on the big screen is not really that big a deal. I am happy I saw it, but I would have been just as happy to rent it, and watch it on my TV at home.
After the movie, Linda saw a friend she knew named Cory and we went out for a drink afterwards. Again, Cory is quite a character so the rest of the night was entertaining. Cory regaled of stories of his past, and what he knows, which I found quite funny.
And that brings us to Sunday. Relaxed and did some work on Sunday, and then kicked to the gym for a spell. Now, I'm just killing some time before I go to Chris' place.
I may catch a movie with Linda tonight, but as it stands, it's still up in the air. For me, I'm about 90% sure I'll be there. But if I'm really tired after Chris', I'll pass.
Who knows?

Walks, drinks, and just other stuff.
So, Just a freakin' hot day. Well, not really, but when the roofers are outside your window, with their Tar-machine, it can get toasty. How? Well, you can't open your windows, because you'll be smelling this strong tar smell. AS well, being September, and the 2nd day of Autumn, of course it's like one of the hottest days of the summer.
As said on Global News, "September is the new July!"
Ugh.
What else, I just got back from a drink with a friend at the Stone Cottage. Not too bad, as it's a nice place. I'm still on the hunt for a good coffee shop, so let me know if you find one.
What else? I did legs today. Sore. Very sore.

I was up until 1:00am talkin' on the phone. Ugh, I'm tired. Today hopefully goes by fast. And I think I'm getting a cold or something. I feel that distinctive 'tickle' in my throat. I'm hoping that I can fight it off before it get worse.
This weekend, I'm babysitting Angeli, which should prove to be fun!

Bloggin' at work, kinda but not really.
This is a blog from work. I'm required to stay after work and do some P.R. for my job. It's not too bad. I'm technically off the clock, but since it's part of the territory, I don't really grumble. Also, since they kinda, sorta feed me, it's not too bad. I had some Veggie burgers, which where o.k, but really? For my time, and the cost of 2 veggie burgers, it's not really worth it. Oh, and I got a PC-cola. Yeah. For about $5.00 (for the 3 items at 'fundraiser' prices), it's actually not even worth me showing up. But I'm not mad. Honestly. It's just when you put things in perspective like that, you realize that maybe the Protestant Work ethic is maybe ok.
But seriously, it's just the thought. I was offered free dinner for my time, which is nice. Again, I'm not upset or angry, but just thinking this whole thing through.
Maybe I shouldn't blog during the day. My brain is working quite well, and it's not a good thing.
Oh, workout is good. I'm sore.

Oh where, oh where, has little Rawlio gone?
Ah, back to the land of blog, where thoughts run free like a small child in a field of dandelions. Ok, I've not got the eloquence of Chris Talbot, nor the social conscience of Sean Wilson, or the quick and small but poignant entries by Jasse. I, am just a huge windbag. And I like it.
So, what's been going on? Since we last saw each other, Friday was a night with Trippy, just havin' our usual Friday night fun.
Saturday was a BBQ at a family friend's place. This guy is named Randolph. He's a pretty cool guy, and very friendly. Let's just say that there was plenty food, and beer, but not enough liquor. My dad had to bring a bottle of Rum to set off the Beer.
Sunday was a nice relaxing day. I chilled, and did some cleaning, laundry (yes, I did) and then I went to the Gym (!). What?!? You say? I've decided I'm going to try to stay back on the road of health. And this is actually one of the things I've started.
If you want to know, I've pretty much cut out Junk food from my diet since the beginning of September. I decided I want to try a month with no junk, or just one day (one evening, particularly just at Trippy's) for junk. During the week, I refrain from the cookies and candy from my job. As well, I'm going to try to combine that with some simple exercises, and see what I can do with the state of my health.
So Far, so Good. I'm doing weights, and on the treadmill for about 30 minutes. Again, we'll see how long it'll last. I'm gonna try to stick to it for longer than last year. I had to stop since I got really involved with things at work, and it was difficult to maintain. I think this year will be easier, but I'm gonna take it one week at a time.
Today, nothing too crazy. Yesterday? Well, maybe, but not really sure. But this week should play out to be kinda interesting. Stay tuned, and I'll do better this week to stay on top of this.
Bloggin' during the day? I'll try, Ringo, I'll try.

All the Kings horses...
What's up with that title? No reason. I went out with Chris (yes, again!) and Steve for a drink. We went to the Wallace Arms, which is near to Chris. Again, they have a good drink on Tap, so I'm thinking that I might be a fan of this place. Who knows? John Smith knows!
Thursday was pretty o.k. humid as anything, but not bad. Tomorrow at work will be a lot easier, as it's some fun in the morning, and some fun in the afternoon. Then I 'm getting my eyes checked (I know they're bad, it's just a case of how bad now), and looking into getting some new specs.
Again, prices vary, and I don't know who'll I'll jump to. $400 plus a free pair? $270, but nothing, $300 with 30% discount? Again, I get some money back because I'm covered, but who do I go for?
And I'm in the middle trying to plan Steve Little's bachelor party. And if you know Steve, please let me know, and I'll get in contact with you with the details. If you don't know who he is, hey, it's no big loss.

World Cup, strange things, and just plain oddities.
Last night, I went to watch the game with some friends. Two guys from work, a girl I work with, and some friends. The game was great, and I have to say that Canada had a fantastic team for the World Cup of Hockey.
I have to agree with what many have to say about the cup in World Hockey. This cup is pretty [ahem] interesting. It's some Plexiglas and some metal, and not the most interesting thing you would want to see.
The Stanley Cup is one thing, but this World Cup is not really something you want to hold. What was funny was that after the game, the captain of the team was holding it (yes, I know, it's ol' Mario) and he looked a bit embarrassed to hold it. And on Jazz FM (the best radio Station ever) said that apparently nobody kissed the cup. Again, what does that say about this cup?
So, tonight, I went out with Chris, and a guy named Logan. Logan is quite an interesting fellow. He's very bright, but he enjoys his hobbies very much that he sacrifices some parts of life for it. Again, this is my opinion. Logan seems quite content with how he lives his life, and from the bits and pieces I hear about his home life, it's quite astonishing that he's so well put together.
Anyway, Logan bought a house and today was the official day he took possession. Unfortunately, his moment in the sun was shadowed by a 'B and E' (Break and Enter) at his father's house where he had most of his stuff. Luckily nothing of value was stolen (well, of Logan's), this dampened his spirits on this auspicious day. Poor Logan, poor poor Logan.
Anything else? Naw, not really. This was a mediocre day. Nothing good, yet nothing bad.
I've realized I'm hung up on one thing, and it's gonna be hard to shake.

What's been going on in the world of...
So, It's been a while. Well, not really. I've been just kinda busy to update you on the happenings of my life.
Friday night:
I met Brad downtown, and had a few, and then we we went to a stag of one of his friends'. This was at a bar, but he had it rented out for a few hours. At about 10:00, the bar opened up, and people came in. The Canadian Institute for the Deaf had some volleyball game, so a whole bunch of their players came. It was the coolest thing. Brad and I basically hung out with these deaf volleyball players. Quite an enjoyable night!
Saturday night, Scott Thibideau and I went to watch the Canada/Czech game at a bar. It was good. Nothing too exciting, but quite a good game.
Sunday was actually really nice. I got up, relaxed, did some errands, did some work, and went to meet Chris to play some games. Logan was there, and we played a game called Zombies. The point of this game is to get out of a city surrounded by zombies. Every turn, more and more zombies are added, and you have to fight your way out. It's a bit scary at the amount of zombies we had on the board. But the night was fun.
Monday, regular day at work. Nothing too exciting, yet nothing to important to report.
However, I'm in the market for a new pair of specs. I've been to 5 different optical stores, and I'm not sure what to do.
Maybe tomorrow, I'll break it down for you.

Hot, Humid, Fun, exciting and Brand Spankin' New!!!
So, What the F#@$ does that mean?
Today was the first day of a new year. Not too bad, really. It was Humid and hot (hence the title), and wearing a sports Jacket doesn't help much. However, I managed to fend off the sweat and carried on.
The afternoon wasn't too bad, neither was the evening. Nothing exciting, really, but just relaxing.
As well, I've been chattin' with Alex, and he's completely jonesin' to go flying with Trippy one day. I don't know how quickly Tripp can accommodate, but I'm sure he'll figure something out.
Anything exciting coming up in my life? Y'know what? No, not really. I've gotta find that new thing.
oh well, So the search continues.

End of the Summer....(unofficially).
Labour Day is over, and it was quite an o.k. weekend. Wow, how more non-descript/open-ended could I be? Actually, more. That wasn't a bad shot.
I had fun at Chris' BBQ, which many people did. No martinis, so that was good. It was nice to socialize with a group of people I don't usually get a chance too. So, it was good.
What else? Steve Campbell came over, and BBQ'd me some Lobster, which was fantastic. I couldn't believe how good it was. Man, is he a good Chef. I guess that's why he's at the Royal York.
Things will start to stabilize with me starting tomorrow. Well, not really, but it's back to work, and back to the old grind. Well, new grind, new everything, so it'll be good.
Any words or thoughts? No, not really.
Oh, Alex proposed a trip for us next Summer, which is very exciting. He wants to do the Cross-Canada drive next summer. I'm really thinking about it. I know you shouldn't really plan for something that far in advance, but I wanna do it as cheap as possible. I'm sure we can do it. But that might be in the works for the next few months!

Pickering - London - Kitchener/Waterloo.
Saturday was quite the busy day. Alex came and got me, after the major hangover of Friday night. We then went to his Mom's house to get his brother to take him to London. Originally it was just to help him move a bed and couch, but we ended up moving all of his stuff. Luckily he didn't have much, so it was good.
We got to London, and then moved Alex's brother, Mike and his girlfriend into an apartment. We then left, and went to see Alex's sister who lives in Kitchener. That was fun, as she and her boyfriend have a nice house there. Small, but very cozy. After that, we went to see Jasse, and hung out for dinner and pie. The Pie was really good.
At Jasse's, his friend Mike Woods and Heather were there. Mike is a really nice guy, so it was cool to see him again. After which, we kicked back home, and I got back to Pickering at 12:30am.
Poor Alex had to drive to Colbourne, which is another 100km from Pickering, but he seemed o.k.
So, busy and fun.
Today, is Chris' BBQ, so I'm excited. I went and got my hair cut and streaked for the occasion. O.k, not really, but it's kinda funny to think that.
Ugh, 2 more days, and my vacation is over. I better make the best of it!

I'm 1000!
Well, I just went to Sean's site to see what's up. And it seems that I was #1000 on his page. Cool. I'm sure he would have wanted someone else.
Again, my counter is pretty crazy, but I've put my blog everywhere.
I'm heading out to see Chris tonight. Trippy's out on a 'camping' trip. Let's just leave it at that.
And, I should have mentioned this last night, but it slipped my mind. My mom's cousin (or Cousin-in-law?) has emailed me. Hi Roger! Jasse's told me about you. And thanks for emailing, and the kind words. Yeah, my friends and Jasse are much more eloquent and interesting than I. Really. I'll email you this weekend. Don't worry.
What else? 'tis the long weekend. I've got not much planned. Saturday, I'm heading to London with Alex, and Sunday is Chris' BBQ. I feel kinda bad, as I'm chillin' here, and our Floridian Neighbours are going to get beat by Hurricane Frances. My thoughts are with you.
I hope my cousin Krishna and his family are o.k.

Busy and Lazy, with a twist of contemplation...
So, I sauntered into work this morning, not as early as I would have liked, but hey, it's still the summer, right?
I actually took 30 minutes to make it to my 'office' to do work. I found every other reason to delay the travel. However, it's not because I don't want to go, it's that I didn't have to be there at a certain time. Again, having that option is always nice.
Once in a while, I contemplate about stuff. Well, I often contemplate about many things, but there's one issue.
I had (yeah, unfortunately) a friend from a long time ago. There was some huge mix-up with things, and I got the blame. Well, I took most of the blame as I was a shlep back then, and I sacrificed myself to save the friendship of the rest of the group. I actually managed to save the groups friendship whilst alienating myself from them. For those who were involved, it seemed like the right thing to do, but I lost a good friend from it.
We talked a few times after that, but it was never the same. Then, we finally broke it off, and never talked. Anyway, I've been following his blog every so often, and see that he's doing fine. And I also wonder about emailing him to start that friendship again.
Am I too afraid? However, what am I afraid of? Don't know. Just a musing.

Yowser, does Sean type a lot!!!
Today, about the same as yesterday, except I went to the Pickering Hindu Temple with my dad to do some prayers. It was fun, actually. It's quite an interesteing ceremony, and especially with my dad, he points out the mistakes of the pundit, or explains what the significance of each part is.
What else? I've noticed that I enjoy using the phrase, "What Else?" in many of my blogs. Apparently, is also another word I use often in speaking, and I emphasis it in my writing as well just for giggles.
And it's the long weekend coming up. What's planned? Well, Alex has to drop a bed off for his brother in London, so I'm gonna join him on his journey. Mainly because it's a good excuse to hang out with Alex. He's gotta drive from Colbourne to Pickering, and then to London. We're thinking of swinging by Jasse's in Waterloo so he can see Jasse's new house.
As well, I wanna see the new Mini-Van. He's not too keen about it yet, but hey, he's a family man. (Jasse, that is. Alex has a big ol' Truck).
Any other plans? Nope. Oh wait! Chris is having a Bar-B-Que on the Sunday, which I will attend, and then that's pretty much it.
And...
oh, nothing. Just desserts is still closed, and I'm still sad.
