Running some much needed Errands.
So, I went and got my oil changed in my car. Something that is extremely easy and fun to do, yet takes time. Did that this morning.
Also, I had to drop by and do some banking stuff, which I did.
I even tried to help Jasse with his blog site. For some reason, it doesn't want to accept his login ID. I did a few different combinations, but to no avail. He'll try it at home.
And I was talking to Linda today for a bit. She's stressing a bit over the work she has to do. I hope she'll be o.k. It's tough being in your last year of school, and wanting to finish and get out. She'll be fine. She's pretty strong. (or stongly pretty? I dunno?!?)
But yeah, this cold, almost kicked my a$$ a few times, but part of my errands were to pick up some Tylonol cold and Flu. Take that, damned virus.

February blues? Getting Sick? Can't figure it out...
Wow, so, the switch over was successful. I have to see if this Yahoo Site actually puts adds on my site. I'm supposed to have some space provided by Rogers, but I gotta sit down and figure it out.
Until then, I'll just keep on here.
As well, maybe this will be the push for me to actually jump a provider, and register and get my own site. Who knows? Maybe it's a present I'll ask Jasse to get me for my birthday? (hint, hint!!!)
But for the most part, things are good. Things at work are getting busy, but that's a seasonal thing. Trippy seems happy with his new prospects, and for the most part, it seems harmonious amongst the group.
And this Monday, my dad is taking off for Trinidad for like 5 weeks. When I asked him why that long, his response was that he wanted to skip out the end of Winter, and relax in the warmth.
maybe he's got something?

Here's the new site...
If you're reading this, i've moved.
I don't know why Rogers doesn't want to maintain the old site, but hey...why not.
Jasse and I just spent an hour on the phone together getting this switched
I hope Jasse was successful.
more blog later.

What a wonderful Weekend...
It has been a few days, but alas, dear readers, I've been busy. You would be happy to know that I have been quite content with the past few days, and here is the report.
Friday night, I went out with Chris and Rich for a drinks. We went to the Wallace Arms, and heard a guy play some live music. A very relaxed night, and having a few beers really made the week feel much better.
Saturday, I went to the gym, and did some errands for the evening. Linda was coming in from her week away in Roberval, so I wanted to get her some stuff for her return. I went to the mall, and got myself some fun things, and then I picked up a nice plant for Linda, along with a card.
Saturday evening, I drove downtown to meet Brad, as we were going to see Sarah Newby's new digs. She, Hugh, and Simon are living around the Bathurst/Keele area. It's a really nice area, and a beautiful apartment. Lots of room for Simon to run, and a garage for Hughes Fiat.
Man, I'm a huge Fiat fan. I would love to have somewhere to do that. Hughes the man.
Anyway, we had dinner, and hung out. Then, I dropped brad home, and went to pick up Linda from the Train Station.
I got her at 11:03 ( I was a bit late...) and then we went back to her place. She was tired, but she regaled me with stories, and presents. I gave her a mission: to find a Laurentide Shirt, which she did! Ah, Vive Le Quebec!
Sunday afternoon, Linda came over, and we chilled. My mom made some lunch, and she stayed and had lunch with my parents. It went well. I'm quiet happy, my parents liked Linda, and she said she had a blast.
All in all, a good weekend.
Monday, not bad. Drive in to work was crazy. All I can say is that my lil' Cavalier somehow didn't get stuck. 20cm of snow, and nothing fazed her. It's just insane.

Blogger, Blogger everywhere, but not a one to pick...
It's amazing how quickly you can get people into blogging. For example. Chris got me into blogging. Since then, I've managed to convince some more people to make blogs.
Jasse was the first to jump after I had one. Then Sean decided to try his hand at the blogging. From there, Sean started his friend Jamie on one, and they then put together a band site (kathy might show), which has some blocs.
But before most of this, or my interest, ole Andrew had his own website.
After a while, Linda came into the scene, and convinced her friends Sam and Katie to follow suit.
how's that for some connections? ?

Who's afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?
That's a good question. Since the big bad wolf could be a metaphor for something life changing or just weird, maybe we all are.
But back to reality. Today, and yesterday were good. Nothing too out of the ordinary. But I went out with Brad Mike last night, and had tea. It was nice to chill with him, and just chat about stuff.
Brad is thinking of going abroad with his new girl to each English in Japan. He seems pretty excited, and wants to do it as soon as possible.
Then I went out with Steve Campbell tonight, for (yeah, I know...) tea. Steve regaled me with his stories about his valentine's day stalker, and what he should do. Steve said that he got a box of roses, and chocolates sent to him on Monday, with no return address, or who sent it. Just a message saying something about admiring him from afar.
He's a bit freaked out, but I think it's kinda cool. He's afraid it's someone he doesn't like that likes him. oh well...
And for Linda, we talked on the phone for quite some time today. She's heading out to Chicoutimi with her friend Isabel (Isabelle?) to do up the town. She seemed pretty excited, which is good. I would be excited doing what she's doing. Linda said she's having a blast, and being in a town where she's the only (or one of the only) English speakers, it's quite an experience. She's learning all kinds of neat phrases, and even I seem to be recalling some of my French from High school.
But I'm glad it's almost the end of the week. Brad Tripp and I are going to head to see Sarah and check out her new digs. Afterwards, I am going to pick up Linda from the Train Station. And for what Linda thinks, check out her blog.
Oh, tomorrow (or sometime), I'll try to do a list of 'bloggers' who's now blogging.
Linda got one more of her friends to blog. Again, I have to thank Chris for this, and him spreading the word to me, who in turned told....
well, that's another story.

The Chantico...
Yeah, not a play on my name, but an actual drink. I didn't (Well, I forgot) to report about this little baby yesterday, as I experienced it on Saturday.
What's a Chantico? It's a pure chocolate drink Starbucks has now. It is purely insane. Brad was telling me that he's not known anyone to finish the drink. I hate when people say that, as you feel this need to disprove them (or you wish to be the man, and complete the task).
Well, we all bought the Chantico, and drank it. Holy moly, is that a sugar rush. Andrew reported that his hands couldn't stop shaking. My legs were twitching. Sean ran off to do some errands, and we were all a bit hyper.
Lo and behold, about 2 hours later, we came off the sugar, and crashed, hard.
Be careful with the Chantico. Good, but crazy.
And today, 'twas Valentine's day. I would like to wish those of you out there a happy one, and I hope things go well with you and your SO.
I'm kinda diggin' Valentine's day right now. I thought I would be down on it (well, a few months ago), but things are going really well, and I'm quite happy.
And I looked on a map to see exactly where Roberval is. It seems like a nice place to visit. Linda's been giving me updates, and she seems to be diggin' hanging with her friend Isobel (?) doing northern Quebec stuff.
Linda told me she's on the hunt for a Laurentide T-Shirt. I'm pretty stoaked about that.

Back home, and all is well.
Andrew and Brad dropped me off at home this afternoon. The Ottawa trip was a smashing success. We relaxed, we had fun, we partook in libations, and generally did what we do when we get together.
I really enjoy these weekends away with the boyz as road trips give us the time to chill and just hang out.
As well, I got a call from Linda (well, I got a few calls) and she's now in Robarval with her friend. She sounds like she's having a good time, which is good. Linda was telling me a bit about the slang these northern Quebecers (Quebecois?) use, and that most of what they say are nonsense words. Trying to figure out an equivalent in English, I think we came up with the 'Valley-girl' phrase of "...y'know?". However, I'm not exactly sure if that would be correct.
And tomorrow's Valentine's day. If you're reading this, make sure you have your presents ready, your dinner reservations booked and your flowers bought. And for the rest of you, keep on truckin'.

Up in Ottawa...
So, here I am in the nation's captial. Today was a fun day. I saw Roberta Bondar speak, which was incredible. I highly recommend anyone who has the chance to see her, to do so.
As well, I took a workshop in Yoga for fun. Man, that was great. I didn't realize how bad my balance was.
And then, I went and had lunch with Linda. She's takin' off for Quebec on Friday night, so I only had friday afternoon to chill with her.
And the, Brad and Andrew picked me up, and we headed to Ottawa. I'm now currently in Ottawa, typing on Steve's computer.
Lots and lots of fun. I don't know what the agenda is this weekend, but it'll be good.
I hope Linda's having a good travel up to Norhern Quebec.

What's new Pussycat?
Well, nothing. I just had some Tom Jones floating in my head.
I went and had tea with Steve Campbell. It was nice to see him, as I haven't seen him since Tom's wedding. He's good, and seems to be having fun with his job.
I'm just gearing up for the weekend. Alex, Brad, Andrew and I are kickin' up to the Capital to see Steve Little. However, talking to Alex, it seems he may not come, and getting an email from brad, he's sick.
I hope they can make it. It would be an amazing weekend if it were all of us.
Fingers are crossed...
Any insights to life? Kinda, but for another post. It's late, and I'm tired.

Comments, and the plight of the Homeless.
I'm quite happy for those of you who have contributed to my comment page. Thanks. Again, the discussion is fun, and insightful.
As for the work ethic, Again, it's funny as it's so trenched in our ways of thinking, it's hard to break from.
Just thinking about it, I remember as a child, my parents would make Jasse and I do work before we could do anything else. And it was a reward. We learned quickly that if we had 'chores' to do, after we were done, we were completely free to do whatever we wanted.
It's funny, as we would get up, finish them up early and do other things. And depending upon what we were doing, sometimes I would do Jasse's to help him, and vice Versa.
What's that gotta do with this work Ethic? Well, Just thinking about some people who chose not to work, and live off society.
I'm still out on that issue. Do you help someone out who's consciously opts out of being a member of society? What about those who actually cannot work because of some disability? Where exactly do you draw the line, and how do you separate them?
That's my thought for the day.
Oh, as a sidenote: A comment on "Who's this Linda girl?"
Linda is amazing. 'nuff said.

Cloud Nine Monday and the Protestant Work Ethic
I got some good news on Monday morning, which made my day. I'll leave it at that, as it'll become apparent what that news is, soon enough.
What else? For the most part, an average day, in terms of work and things to do. There were some distractions which made life a bit weird, and no work was done. In fact, yesterday was quite un-productive.
It's funny, I'm reading a book about Computer Hacker's Ethics. It's based upon the idea that work shouldn't be held to a 9-5 deal, but just deadlines, and the freedom to do the work whenever.
As well, a position that all information should be free for anyone to use. Which I agree, because guarding knowledge is really silly. If you can share knowledge, why not? Historically, knowledge has been controlled, and has been used in awful ways.
And what else is neat is the idea of our North American view of work. The Protestant Work Ethic. Life is hard work. No fun, as fun means no work, and no work means you're unproductive, and unfit to be a productive part of society.
Is this good? Well, I do think we're killing ourselves working.
Moral of the story: Take a break. Enjoy life. And Party for your right to fight.

Beat to the Punch...
As fast as the internet and posting can be, it seems Jasse and Linda both beat me to the blog, and posted about the weekend.
So, Saturday, I took Linda to meet Jasse, Heather and Angeli. It was a really fun time. We hung out, had lunch, and then went for a walk. I'm so glad the weekend is nice, so you can actually do things outside.
Then after, Linda and I went to Ikea, as she wanted to buy some bedding, and just wander. Again, Ikea is just a fun place.
Since Brad's birthday was last week, and I didn't get anything for him, I bought brad the chair that someone broke at his place. Later that night, I went to see Brad, and deliver his present to him.
All in all, a good weekend. Tonight, I'm heading over to Scott Thibideau's place for a Superbowl party, which should be good. Again, I'm a closet New England fan, so I'm going to make my bet here and now...
Patriots take the superbowl, with a point spread of 18pts.
Seen it here first!

Chillin' on A friday night...
What am I doing right now? I'm with Chris, and we're at Logan's place. Havin' a few beers, talkin' and havin' some relaxin' time.
Tomorrow, I'm kickin' to Waterloo to see Jasse and Angeli with linda. I'm looking forward to that, as Angeli is getting over a cold, and is more 'kid-like' than last week.

Do Z-24's dream of Fuel-Injected Sheep?
Basically, after all that kinda 'car' trouble I've been having, I decided that I would look seriously into getting a new vehicle. And every time I think about it, my lil' car seems to be driving better and better.
Can my car actually sense that I'm wanting to give her up? Yeah, I refer to my car as a girl, as it seems the most natural.
My lil' car's been through many things, and has always got me home. But she's getting on in age, and it might be time to let her out to pasture (or a new owner).
Again, today (and last night), she's been driving like a dream. I got her washed and she's sparkling. I'm afraid to use the word gorgeous, as I like to keep that word reserved for some other person.
Makes it hard. She's been a great lil' car.
Oh, I should sleep at night. Last night I was on the phone with Linda. She said she can kill me with conversation. I have challenged her to try. I don't quite know what I'm in for, but it'll be interesting.
Isn't that part of the fun?
