Maybe it's me...

Ok, I've tried to post a few times since Monday, and to no avail. Once it was because Blogger was down for the period I tried to blog. Another time, the connection at work was 'wonky' so it didn't' want to post.

Oh well.

What's new? Nuthin' much, really. Back at the grind, and it's not as bad. But this week is a shortened week, as Friday is a Professional Development day. Yeah, it's kinda slack, so I'm not really counting it as a day of work. However, I get the PM off, and I'm gonna take off for a night.

This weekend, is the hallowed "Boogie Loogie". I'm not quite happy with the title, but Tripp seems to be thrilled with it.

I think its supposed to be cheeze (yes, Sean...Cheeze...not Cheese)*.

What else? My journey of Dawson's Creek Season 2 continues. Man, I could dig living in Capeside. What would be the Ontario version of Capeside? Maybe Southampton/Port Elgin?

I dunno.

* definitions:
Cheese - dairy-based product made by molding milk curds and doing interesting things to make tasty and yummy.

Cheeze - anything that does not use dairy products, but is molded to some poor facsimile.

Just an update..

I didn't type this yesterday, but I wanted to let everyone know that I'm happy, and I'm glad I'm relaxing back home.

What I would like to report is that I am recovering from over 127 mosquito bites. I lost count (or just stopped counting, for that matter) after that number.

Oh, Dawson's Creek, Season 2 - Amazing. Just started watching the first episode. I've got some work to do, and I'll tackle another episode later.

Trini-son Returns from Trini-Dad...

Fine, fine, fine...Not the greatest of titles, but hey...it's good.

So, I arrived on time, and without too much of a hassle back home. How was the trip? Fantastic.

Here's the basic breakdown:

Sunday: Arrived, and my dad picked me up at the airport. On the way back to his sister-in-law's place (my aunt), we stopped for a drink. That night, we relaxed, he showed me around his village and we dropped into a Hindu wedding. Neat.

Monday: Dad and I traveled down South to San Fernando and caught a taxi to Williamsville. From there, we met a cousin, and my uncle Wilson picked me up. Dad kicked back home, and I chilled with Uncle Wilson (My mom's brother) for the day. His kids (my cousins) were busy, but chilled with me until night. In the Evening, Andy (my cousin) and I went out to do some 'liming'. This is the Trinidad slang for 'hanging out', or 'chillin'. We went to a few places in San Fernando, and then came home, played PS1 and went to bed.

Tuesday: Uncle Wilson dropped me off and my Uncle Tombol (my mom's other brother) picked me up. I went to where he lived, which is the same house as my mom grew up. It was neat to see my cousin Wayne, Aunt Molly, Aunt Tyune and cousins Yvette and Margo. The day was relaxed, and I consumed more drinks.
Wednesday / Thursday - Dad and I went to Tobago. We took the boat there, and it ended up being an 8 hour ordeal. When we arrived, my cousin Mitchrum picked us up , and showed us around the island. Then we went to Crown Point and took a dip in the water. Man, was the water rough! That night, Mitchrum took us to the Fishing port to see his fishing boat. His crew had just come back from the sea with a huge bounty of Flying fish. Dad went back to where we were staying, and I remained at the port, consuming more drinks with the fisherman guys. The next day, we went and swam in a private beach area, and then took a plane back to Trinidad. When we got back, we just relaxed as it was quite a morning.

Friday : Went up north to see Dad's Uncle's Sonny and Even. Both of these guys are really cool, retired teachers, and own half of Sangre Grande. They had bought land, sold, bought more, and kept selling. These guys are pretty well off.

Saturday : Went to Chaguanas to do some shopping, and then go to a funeral of a friend of Dad's. Shopping was fun, lots of doubles to be eaten, and then to a Hindu Style funeral. Nothing to extrordinary, but neat nonetheless.

Saturday night : Caught the plane home, and arrived..

Sunday: home.

Pretty much, that was it. Trinidad was amazing. I saw family I haven't seen in almost 15 years, and learned to travel around the island alone. I think I can do Trinidad again...

I'm headin' out...

Well, it's Saturday night, and I've done my packing. I got my clothes and other things in order, and I'm ready to go.

Trinidad, here I come!!!

But just to let everyone know, Jasse is amazing. He got me website.

http://rawl.ca

It won't be up at least until I get back. But I'll let you know!

I hope you all have a good time. I'm going to try to post in Trinidad!

And Roger: I'll look for those Internet Cafes. Thanks.

If Heaven is on Earth, it must be Capeside.

Just a quick entry...

I ordered Dawson's Creek Season 2 from Indigo on the weekend, and it just came today. As well, Brad gave me Season 3.

I can't wait. 2000 minutes of Dawson, Joey, Pacey and Jen. What a way to start off my March break.

And I think Jasse got me my website. So, soon, I'll be over at ...

www.rawl.ca

but not yet. It's being approved.

Thursday is the new Friday...

That's my cheeze phrase for the day, well, for yesterday. I had a pretty good week, and I was not really around a computer this week to blog. I did see that I posted my birthday blog 3 times, which I've fixed, so you can tell I've been a bit distracted.

Just to say, I went out with Linda, Brad and Ben on Tuesday night. We met Linda's friend Katie there, so that was fun. Again, being a work night, I shouldn't have done what I did, but I figured that it was my birthday, and I would pay the piper (a different piper) for my actions.

I consumed more than I should. I had a hard time on Wednesday, and I hurt really bad. But I don't regret what I did. I don't blame anyone on what happened. Do I blame myself? Nope. I had a great time, and I would not have changed it for the world. We went to the Orbit, and there was a great Reggae Band, so that was amazing.

The rest of the week has been pretty chill, as well. And currently, I'm at Brad's, waiting for him to get ready.

Brad is going to Montreal this weekend with a co-worker to a beer festival. Brad's friend Kevin Tye is a Home Brewer, and he apparently judges beers and the Ontario Beer Association (or something like that) are meeting the Quebec Beer Association (or something close to that...). They're visiting Unibrew (or is it Unibrau? Not sure....Man, I don't really know anything, do I?) to taste the new beers, and such. Man, that'll be a lot of fun.

And I begin a week's vacation. I'm getting my stuff ready for Trinidad, so I'm kinda stoked about that.

Again, I don't know if I can blog from Trinidad. I'm not takin' the lil' iBook, but I'm takin' the Digital Camera. If I can Photo-blog, or post to my Photo site, I will.

All good?

Happy Birthday to me...

Yeah, it's the day where I come full circle. 'tis the day.

What's in store for me tonight? Not sure.

But Trinidad is happenin' in 5 days, and I'm pretty excited.

Just an FYI, the weekend was great. Linda and I went to her cottage for the day, and chilled in the faboulous town of Campbellford.

Nothin' else exciting.

What happened to Fez?

Ok, I'll make a quick addendum. I woke up, thinking about how great last night was for not doing anything. Well, when I usually say I do nothing, I ended up watching bad TV. But the 70's Show was on, and I usually enjoy watching that to completely zone out of reality.

Anyway, last night's episode was a newer one. I don't know if it was brand new, or just a repeat from this season, but holy moly did they change Fez's character. Last night, he was this stupid, creepy loser who lost his flare for dressing. His lines and his clothes were not good. I don't know what they're planning on doing with this character, but I think they've totally made him the token minority who is funny because he's so stupid.

C'mon, that crap's not funny, and it was never funny.

Just a thought as I was brushing my teeth this morn.

Ah, the representation of Nothing, and city that should do nothing...

Today was not bad. I got home, had to get a ticket for Trinidad, and now...nuthin.

yeah, Nuthin. Nada, zip, zero, zilch. That's what I did tonight. I watched the news, and relaxed.

Speaking of which, I feel bad for the Toronto SIU team. It seems in the past few days, the city has pretty much exploded. They've had their hands busy with the jackass who tossed his daughter over the bridge, the nut-job who was wielding a knife and now that guy who decided to torch himself and take away the media spotlight from the poor farmers.

Un-freakin'-real.

The Tuesday Night report...

O.k, so...

nothing really new. I may be going to Trinidad for the Holidays coming up. I'm not sure. I'll have to find out tonight.

and so, yesterday? Nothing to exciting. Since I'm not sick, I've been hitting the gym again, which was really hard at first, admittedly. Last night was a good night. I can tell, as I feel it this morning.

I picked up Linda from her exam, and we came back to my place, and chilled. I am watching the neighbor's house, so I had to make sure the cat Savannah was ok.

Again, night was good. Nuthin' really new to say.

Today? Who knows?

Jasse's Blog.

So, I fixed the link to Jasse's blog. It's here. Just click this entire entry, and you'll get there.

Or, click on the left, and you'll get there.

Just building in a little redundancy into the system.

How true are Horoscopes?

Ok, just a quick entry this cloudy and dark Monday morn. I'll admit to reading my horoscope. I pass it off with others that it's fun and it's interesting to see if it does actually come true.

In some instances, I do hope that some of the 'predictions' do come true. But is there any validity to this? I mean, we try to predict (and are pretty successful) with things like animals and plants. We can to a certain degree of accuracy know how some life forms will react, and what will happen. But can we look to the stars to see how our lives will unfold?

The theory is that everything is affected by everything else. The movement and positions of stars and planetary objects and and do affect our lives. In space, we know this for certain as we can observe derivations in orbital paths of planets and celestial bodies. But say these minute gravitational pulls do affect some intangible thing on earth that can alter certain thought processes?

I dunno. Just a thought.

Oh, Rich, yeah, Teflon wipers are amazing with water, but crap with snow.

Busy as a bee...

Well, kinda. The past few days have been busy, with the usual ups and downs of life and such.

Rich told me about my wipers. His quote was "Teflon is great for water, and crap (sic) for everything else". So, I think the -20 C weather is not good for anything, and I should just hope that the weather gets better before I kill my wiper blades.

What else? The whole business with the Piper, and getting paid, that whole saga came to an interesting development on Wednesday, which I'm still reeling from.

Let's just say that word got to the people that the Piper wasn't happy with the treatment he was receiving. So, possibly, there's some recourse to actions to smooth things out before it gets worse.

Yowser. That's gotta be the most cryptic of 'em all...

But back to life, Friday was fun, chillin' with Linda in the evening, and then going to see Trippy.

Saturday, I finished a big project for work, and saw Linda for a bit as well. We had some dinner, and then we watched a movie. Unfortunately, she hurt her back, so she wanted to get home, and put ice on it.

Sunday, which is today, is the infamous laundry day. That's it.

Nothing too exciting.

If you get a chance, please check out Sean's web-page, and read his entry on selling out to the man.

Un-freakin' real.

Argh! Windshield Wipers are the Bane of my existence!

All I can say is:

ARGH! CRAP! DAMN YOU!

I bought new windshield wipers when I got my oil changed last week. Today, with the snow, and rain/slush and crap that's being splashed, my windshield is covered, and it's hard to see out of.

So, I turn on my wipers, with my brand-new Wipers...

Nuthin'. My damn wipers are warped. I can see out of 30% of my windshield.

More Snow...and a shameless plug.

so, What I eluded to in the last entry...

Snow, and more snow. It just snowing. It hasn't stopped all day.

This morning, wasn't too bad, but I'm curious as to the conditions of the road. Is it going to be crazy, or not?

and tonight, I'm meeting Linda for a coffee. Her class is over at 9:00, so I'll get her, and see her. She's in crazy work mode, so time with her is limited. I just gotta make the most of it.

Oh, and Sean: sorry for the move, there may be another move as well. I'm not sure I dig the Yahoo! ads. I get no adds on my machine, but people are telling me they get 'em. On one computer, they get, on some they don't. I'll try to fix the problem.

Again, I think this is a good plug for Jasse to give me a good Present for my birthday coming up....

web-space: go to www.myid.ca, or some other name provider.

I want to have www.rawlchan.ca up and running soon. Or even www.rawl.ca

That would be cool!

Holy Snow, Batman. What's up with the Weather?

So, a few things have happened since the last blog.

Friday: I met up with Steve Campbell, and had some tea. It was nice to find out exactly what happened with his stalker, and his dating life. He's just unsure where he wants this new relationship (if it is) to go.

Saturday, Linda came over in the morning to do some studying. I was also doing some work, so it was nice to just hang out with her. I then took her home so she could finish more work, and I went to see Brad. We purchased some beverages, and just relaxed, and caught up. It was nice.

I introduced him to the House of Cosbys, which I'll link here. It's a bizarre but really funny flash animation. The dialogue has been running in my head for a few days now, which is kinda disturbing. (Rudy....I'm your father!!! - it makes sense if you watch it)

Then Sunday, more work, and relaxation. My dad was preparing for his 6 week adventure to Trinidad, which he was leaving on Monday morning. So, nuthin' really exciting that day.

Again, Linda was busy with work, so we talked as opposed to get together. I always feel bad pulling her away from her work. I know she was much more productive before we started bothering each other, and I sometimes feel responsible for her not getting work done.

A dilemma, really. What can you do.

Monday- the day that never ended :

Up at 4:30, at the airport at 6:30, work at 7:20, workshop at 1:00 (across the city), and then a meeting at 4:30. Home at 7:30. Took care of Neighbor's cat/house 9:00. Home again at 11:30.

Ugh.

Which brings us today. Storm from Hell....

which should be a post unto itself.

Yeah, let's break up this long blog.
