Fine, not a song title, but a 'book-on-tape'. Jasse dropped off a fantastic CD with some really cool stuff on it. Apparently the Stuffies have made a new album, and were in Toronto a few weeks back. Jasse found the 'soundboard' recordings online, and burnt them out for me.
As well, he got me HHGttG, Restaurant at the end of the Universe, and Mostly Harmless as a 'book-on-tape'. So, I was listening to that on my way home from Dragon Boat practice.
What else today? Nothing really. I'm just sore in my legs from my workout on Sunday, and then practice this aft.
I've noticed that Chris' got some Anti-Mac stuff on his site again. Ah, is it that time of year again? :)
And I'm glad Sean's back on the Blogging planet. He's been busy it seems with neighborhood kids and the local fauna of Nepean.
And so many cool movies coming out. Batman Begins, The Fantastic 4, and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. tLtWatW seems good, so I'm pretty excited about that.
Deep thought of the day: If Time is Money, and money is the root of all evil; ergo, wouldn't Time be the root of all evil? Maybe a stretch.

Ok, it's combination of a song, and my weekend.
I went and saw two movies this weekend. Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.
RotS was Fantastic. I really liked it. I finally read Chris' opinion and I do agree, but it's a cool movie in my books. Run, don't walk to the theatres.
HHGttG was o.k. I am constantly disappointed by the Hollywood versions of books. I guess there's nothing that can truly compare to a good book. But in terms of it being a stand-alone movie, it's o.k.
If someone who's never seen the BBC version nor read the books, I think this movie would be pretty good. It's quirky and strange enough to be different from the other Hollywood type movies that have been coming out. Being a HHGttG fan, it's kinda disappointing, as you don't quite know why they added some new characters and a strange new plot twist, and develop a love story with two characters that shouldn't really be together.
And I met Steve Campbell for tea last night. It was nice to chill and chat with the ol' Steve. Man, he's got a lot going on in his live; work, relationship, future, etc. He's a bundle of nerves right now, but I think he'll be fine. He knows the path he must take, and take it he must. (Yoda's in my head...)
Today; Linda's comin' over to make some bean Salad. Jasse and Kent are dropping by with Angeli. And tonight's Game night with Chris.
Ah, where does the weekend go?

the turning point of a career...
If you have guessed that song, good for you. If not, it'll be at the bottom of this blog.
If you want another hint..
Grabbing hands, grab all they can. All for themselves, all their own.
So, I see that Ben Pickering does check my blog. Again, thank-you, and I'm curious...
Did I really show a look of horror? I did honestly thought I was playing cool...with maybe a slight 'eyebrow' raise...oh well. All in good fun.
Roger: I am guessing you're back safe and sound back home. Again, too bad we couldn't hook up. Next time you're in the Great White north.
Steve: We'll talk later.
Sean: Where are you? Did the Squirrels get you?
And for the rest: Things are good. It's almost June, which brings its own adventures and responsibilities. This weekend I think I'm slated to assemble patio Furniture for my dad. That's o.k. It's better that I do it, since I took it apart last fall. It'll be nice to be outside.
And for the Boyz: Pics from the weekend- you gonna post?
and the answer: Everything Counts- Depeche Mode.
Eeks...There's a blast from the past.

Start Spreading the News...
I was trying to think of a fancy-schmancy way to introduce this blog, but we'll leave it at that, right Ben Pickering? This harkens back to April 21st where I met Scott Woodland's Friend, Ben Pickering at a local establishment with Linda.
He made reference to finding Scott's name on some site, and tried to hack it and make some changes.
I'm glad either he didn't do it, or Blogger's security was very good. Anyway, I'm going to leave this link for ol' Ben Pickering to have fun with.
CLICK HERE BEN. THE ARCHIVES NOW WORK. LOOK FOR APRIL 21ST.
But seriously, Thanks Ben for checking that my archives don't work. They've been a source of problems for a while, and I hope they're now working.
Enjoy Ben Pickering!
Yes, his name is really Ben Pickering. Surprisingly not from Pickering. C'mon, that'll be too easy!
It's supposed to be a nice day. I'm glad, as we're due for some after last year.
On the weekend, it was warmer than the Cottage weekend from last August, which was quite strange. But I had a better time, just to let you know.
So, I didn't get a chance to hook up with Roger, but we did talk on the phone for a while last night. Hopefully next time, we can actually meet and hang out.
Last night, I didn't do much. I had a meeting, and then came home, and went out to get groceries. Yeah, boring.
This week is going to be a bit slow, which is nice. It's been a busy few weeks, with diving and trips and such. I think I've been busy every weekend for the past 4 weeks. I may be able to relax this weekend. Who knows?
Y'know how you say things, in hopes that it doesn't come true? Well, one thing I did was say that if something happened, I'm gonna take Yoga. I think I may be taking yoga next week. We'll see.
Oh Steve: No, I haven't started reading yet. I'll start this week. How's this week for a drink? How's the love life?

I just got back. Well, not really, but I've been home for about an hour. I was in Haliburton, Muskoka, and then back to Haliburton, and then back home.
Ok, that was a lie. Not really Haliburton, but a tiny town just North-west of it called Eagle Lake. It's a quaint little cottage town, with some really nice houses. I saw a beautiful house on the lake for sale. I would love to find out how much it would be. It had a huge back-yard, amazingly huge deck, and just a great lay-out for land.
I'm actually kinda tired now, but I'll report on the weekend later.
Roger, if you check this...I got your phone message. My cell-phone carrier doesn't seem to like up where I was. I didn't get the messages until I came closer to Toronto. I'll try to call you tomorrow (tues) if I can.

Ok,not really a song lyric, but close enough. A song started off that way.
Damn you Chris! I'm getting sick as well. Just before the long weekend!
Last night, I did not much. I went to the store to get some supplies for the weekend, and then chilled back home. I talked with my mom, and surfed the internet.
I talked to Linda for a bit, and kicked to bed.
What's new? Jasse's comin' to visit for a little bit. A little bit may mean like 20 minutes or so. It'll be kinda neat, as he's never seen where I work. Well, not really. He's seen the building, but not inside.
I'm interested to see if my colleagues actually say that we look alike. Apparently we do. I know we are similar because of being from the same Gene pool, but other than that, not really.
Oh well. I'm happy he's coming.
Wednesday, May 18, 2005
If you're gag-reflex kicks in, good for you. A colleague asked me to burn a CD for her, and this song was on it. I was listening to it, and it got stuck in my head. Ugh.
Steve L's Cottage is now solidifying. So, as it stands, I'm heading up on Friday evening with Linda somehow to spend the weekend in Northern Ontario. I'm returning on Monday in time for work, and then My mom's cousin hopefully will be coming to visit.
Again, I'm getting too excited for this weekend. So much to do in the next few weeks, as the end of June approaches. I can't wait for the summer, as I'm doing my advanced Diving course, camping, and just some general loafing. I think I may spend some time up in Northern Ontario for days at a time, just for fun.
Also, depending, I may crash in Ottawa for a few days here and there for fun.
It'll be fun to just bum around for a month.

Again, I wonder if anyone is getting the references of songs in my titles. Some of them are going way back.
Last night was Dragon Boat practice. It was fun. A guy who I dragon Boated with last year started his own boat, and is looking for 'defectors' for next year. Will I defect? Not sure, but if I can join two boats, I may. I would still love to find a team and join.
This weekend is the long week-end. And it's going to be a Cottage weekend up at Chalet Little. Again, it'll be interesting because Trippy and I are bringing guests. I think the first time ever that we're in this situation.
Unfortunately, we're coming back on Sunday night, which I want to see if I can find somewhere else to go. We'll see.
The summer's coming up fast, and I'm not really sure what I'm doing. I might have a summer job for about 2 weeks, and after that, not sure. I'm hopin' to be out of the house for the most part to avoid any 'major renovations'. One year, it was to repaint the entire common areas of the house. Last year was 2 bathrooms and help recarpet/tile the front room. I'm afraid that I'll be re-roofing the house or something crazy like that.

So, Saturday night, I kinda relaxed, and then went to spend the night with Linda. The night was fun, but short, as I had to leave early to pick up Steve for Diving.
Headin' to Peterborough was a beautiful drive. Not much traffic, and a nice day. The dive itself was good, but not great. Steve had a better time than I, but that's because it's his first dive in like 3 years. I'm glad he's finally got his 'ears' wet, so now he can stop complaining' about not going.
Lock 19 was o.k. Not as fast as the Chippawa river the week before, but o.k. The Chippewa was amazing. Just fast, and long. Lock 19 was slow, and not exciting. The only o.k thing was that it wasn't too cold.
Then, Sunday night spent with Chris and the crew. That was a fun time. My fighter is getting a bit more competent. Not that he incompetent, but just needing to step up to the plate with two main characters leaving, it's not too bad. Too bad I have a tendency to be a punching bag for really large creatures.
This weekend? Steve's cottage. I'm lookin' forward to that. Almost too much.
Saturday, May 14, 2005
It's a bit rainy. I hope it stops for tomorrow. But then again, what's the difference if you're going diving?
Spend the afternoon re-arranging my room, with the new Entertainment Unit. As well, some 'clean-up' time with iTunes. It's amazing how when you don't organize your files, things get all over the place...
So, hopefully my lil' iPod will be a bit happier.
Last night I went to dinner with two co-workers. An interesting experience to say the least. They're pretty cool. One co-worker is fantastic, the other is...Well, I thought she was cool, then I thought she was iffy, and now she's back cool. Again, I'm still weary of some of the interesting co-horts I associate with.
After, I met Linda, and we had some drinks and chilled.
Saturday morn, I met Steve C. for breakfast, and visited his Mom's Garage sale. It was pretty good, as I got some neat books.
Now, the lazy Saturday aft, I'm re-arranging furniture. I've inherited an entertainment unit, so I can put my stuff on. Getting used stuff is both good and bad. It's one thing to have a nice old used set of furniture. It's another to have nice, slightly used mixed sets. What's more ghetto?
Yeah, exactly.

The first Bad thing...
So, This is the 2nd post I have tried. Let's see if this goes through. It's friday the 13th, and I found that I couldn't log in. Interesting. Good thing the email Bloggin' can work. I'm not going to figure out 'mobile' bloggin', as that's almost too much.
Bad luck? My drive into work was good, so I''m ok there. Then diving this weekend. It'll be good.
Should I buy a new wet-suit? It's a neat 7mm, one piece. not sure. But my old 14mm 2-piece is good, and a little bit big.
ugh, I'll see what happens.
But keepin' fingers crossed!
Jeepers! Today's the 'unlucky' day of the year...well, a few of the year. Is it really unlucky? Well, it's debatable. I was telling someone that some buildings don't have a 13th floor because of the stigma attached to it. However, in Taiwan, 4 was unlucky, and they had the same thing.
But to hedge my bets, I've yet to have a bad thing happen. Not to say I don't believe, but ol' Murphy usually triumphs in my life, and does things that I say shouldn't happen.
Cold and sunny is the day so far. Can't wait to start the weekend. Why? not really sure. Nuthin' really going on, just wanting to get it started.
I can feel summer coming.

Just an average day
So, I didn't get a chance to blog last night as I was
tired. Now I get a chance.
I went to play Frisbee with Brad Mike last night, and
then have tea. It was good. It's nice to see Brad,
and he's talkin' off for England in 2 weeks to live
with his Girlfriend. It's a pretty neat story, as
he's going with no plans, no idea on what he's going
to do. He'll find a job, and start living. Again,
it'll be interesting.
What else? it's a bit Chilly and that's about it.
This weekend is another dive, up in Peterborough. I
like that area, but unfortunately it gets flooded
every few years, and it's not good.
More later. I do loves my email-bloggin'!

Boy, it's hot today...
It's nice out, but it's warm. Kinda hot, and
sticky...
It's gonna be a warm season!

I took today off for an eye-doctor's appointment. Things went well, for the most part. What was weird, was they dilated my eyes to look at it, and said that it would be like that for about 4-5 hours. Holy crap was it a beautiful sunny day. Man, did it hurt driving home.
Well, I got home, dropped off my regulator to Innerspace to get it checked out. For some reason, I think the high-pressure Seal is blown. Oh well. Such is Used equipment.
I chilled with Linda for the rest of the day, which was nice.
But lookin' at my summer, I think it's starting to book up. My mom wants to throw (or hold, don't know...) a baby-shower for Heather (my Sister-in-law). She is thinkin' of having it in July but Heather suggested having it in August, after the baby. Reason being that at least the guests know what to buy.
I guess that makes sense. What's even funnier, is that it might end up being the Chan Summer Baby Shower Jam. My dad just wants to show off the garden, that's all.
And it looks as Steve is staying strong with his blog. 3 entries! Way to go!
Monday, May 09, 2005
Sorry, but just a throwback from my older blogs. I was perusing my archives, and saw that I used to start each blog with a lyric from a song...I liked that.
So, I had Dragon boat practice tonight. It was fun. Y'know, after working out, I've noticed a big difference in my 'athletic' endeavourer's. With diving, I'm not tired, and with Dragon boat,I'm not out of breath, or hurting. It's amazing.
And on another note, I found out a friend from school is getting married. My friend Tina Hartleib, who I did my B.Ed with, just told me tonight that she's getting married. Tina's really cool, and I realize that I've never talked about her on my blog.
Oh, on another note: Um....o.k, I gots nuthin'.

Saturday was the day of the dive. I went to Chippawa River down by Niagara Falls, in the town of Chippawa to do a drift dive. A drift dive is one in which you let the current take you down the river, and you just enjoy the scenery as it passes you. What's cool about some drift dives, is that they're on boating routes, and so people either drop, throw or lose things in the water. On this drift dive, I saw a car, tires, bottles, bike wheel, Newspaper box, and some other assorted small items. Just strange.
Also, Steve came along. It was unfortunate that he didn't get to dive, as his regulator was not working well, and so he had to abort the first dive. On the second dive, his mask was not sealing on his face because of his mustache, so he had to abort that dive. I felt kinda bad, as he's been more hardcore abut going diving than I, and when the planets aligned for him to go, it didn't work.
Oh well. Such is life. However, on the positive side, he did start a new blog. Raven's Domain. It's brand spankin' new, so it'll be neat to see what he posts.
And then, Saturday night, I went to Tripp's for a few drinks. It was Brad, JiHye and I. We just chilled, drank, and watched SNL. It was good.
I picked up Linda from the Airport this morn, and spent the morning and most of the afternoon with her.
Which brings me to now...
Tonight? New Simpsons and new Family guy! Yeah, I'm gonna actually watch some TV.

Going Diving in the Morning!
So, tomorrow morn, I'm going to pick up Steve and head
to the ol' Chippawa River to do a 'drift dive'. It
should be fun. I know that the Divemaster for this
dive is a bit nervous because Steve's never done
'cold-water' diving before. Ah, it'll be interesting
to see him in the water.
What else? Linda comes home Sunday morn, but I'll be
getting ready to go to church with my Mom. It's
mother's day on Sunday, and that's all she wants.
I'll report back after my dive, with the 'weather' report.
Jazz FM
Ok, I always listen to this radio station, every
morning. Right now they're on a 'fund-raiser'
campaign.
I just donated. If you get a chance, check out
FM-91.1
Again, eMail blogging may be bad...
Thursday, May 05, 2005
Today, as a re-cap, was just pretty relaxed. Nothing too exciting. I had to pick up 4 tanks of air for the dive this weekend. 2 for me, and 2 for Steve. It's a drift dive in Chippawa, and it's supposed to be pretty cool. I have to pick up either a mesh bag or something, as there's all kinds of 'salvageable' stuff on this dive.
Steve's pretty excited, but nervous. He's only got a few dives under his belt, and he's never dived (dove?) in cold water before. The divemaster for this dive is a bit concerned, but Steve should be alright.
As well, poor Steve's got his plate full with some interesting things at work and in his personal life.
I'm just glad that 'rawl.ca' is us, and that rawlio@rawl.ca is up and running now.
Let's see how things go with that, which is neat in itself.
I'm experimenting with Mozilla's Thunderbird, but I'm still a bit weary about it. Yahoo! is pretty good with allowing you to access POP mail from it's interface, which I may continue to do.
who knows?
But Chris, I'll experiment. Thunderbird seems like a Mozilla version of ol' Eudora.
And Sunday, 2 big things: Mother's day, and Linda's back! I'm pretty stoked for both. One more than the other.

It's Finally Done!!!
If you've made it here, then you've seen I've got my new address up and running.Yeah!
And Steve C, the archives do work. You just have to access them from the main page. So, go back, and look at them.
What's up for Tuesday? I did get home from work, and do a bunch of stuff. Here's the run-down.
Got home, ate and then organized my Diving stuff. It's all in the garage trying to dry. But in the cold and damp weather, it's hard to dry. I moved it all inside, and put my rental stuff in my car and went to get Steve Campbell. We then went to buy used Regulators from the Dive Club, and get the necessary parts to make 'em work.
After that, we went to Canadian Tire to get some clips for our diving stuff, and then to Wal-Mart for some other stuff. I picked up a shredder and a new tent. Why those two? Price. Not that they go hand in hand (as shredders to tents are like forks are to toasters?!?). I needed to get a shredder to dispose of 'sensitive' documents. Not that I'm all 'conspiracy' theory, but Linda was saying that it's safer to shred old bills and stuff, just in case of identity Theft and such. Also, the shredder was pretty cheap, so it's not a big deal.
And I got a new big tent since my old tent looks like a kid's play thing. Last year when I went camping, my tent was 'cute'. Also, not wanting to camp alone again, I need a bigger tent.
Afterwards, we kicked to Whitesands Cafe, to meet Chris and stayed there.
All in all, a fun night.
Any interesting things? Not really? As for the quest for the car, Roger suggested a Mini Cooper. I do like my Mini's, but not really sure. Again, just frustrating looking at the Lemonaid Car guide. Apparently every car is crap.
Monday, May 02, 2005
So, Sunday morn I didn't learn my lesson and returned to Barrie to do some diving. I was supposed to meet the guys from the Ajax Scuba Club, but I was early. I did however run into the guys from 4D-Dive, the Barrie Dive club. They were really friendly and offered to let me dive with them. They also said I could jump some of their dives during the year, which I might. Being a member of a Dive club apparently allows you to move from club to club with not to much hassle.
But unlike Saturday, the colder water kept me out for the 2nd dive. Basically, nobody did the 2nd dive, and we all kicked home.
And last night was another game night. Yes, D&D. I will not re-cap about what happened, as Chris has it nicely written on his site at the Greyhawk Campaign. Last night's adventure would be posted in a few days.
It's early Monday morn, and I'm at work. Ugh, it's supposed to be cold today, and I've got Dragon Boat tonight. Man, Just a cold weekend!
Oh, and Sean: That's really cool... rawlio backwards is - OIL WAR.
Hee hee hee...
