Obi Wan Kenobi is on leave.

So, just a quick entry. I had this stirring in my mind all day. My Mentor at work is now officially on a one year leave. I've, in fact, lost my guide through all these trials. I don't know if I'm ready to strike it out alone. But alas, Obi Wan is only a phone call away.

Enjoy your year off, Scott. You need it. This young Jedi will not let you down.

And I'm almost all ready for the Prescott Family Dive weekend. Steve has got his stuff, and is back in Pickering for me to get him.

And I met his new girl. Apparently they're just friends. But again, I have to refrain from divulging information, as Jen reads this lowly blog.

I'll hopefully update on Sunday night when I get in.

Happy Canada Day, Everyone.

What's up Pussycat?

So, I've been kinda busy with wrapping things up at work. It's almost like a new 'quarter' in terms of workload, so I'm kinda chillin.

Well, not exactly, but I'm gonna be on vacation, so that'll be good.

What's been up for the past few days? nuthin' really. Last night was really the crux of the week, at this point.

It was the Staff Year end party/3 retirement parties. We all went to a place called "Rinx" and played Whiry-ball. It's a combination of lacrosse, basketball and bumper cars. You are in a bumper car, with a lacrosse stick (or whiffle ball catcher, really) and you have to try to hit a ball on a backboard or a small circle. We made teams and had a small round robin. My team won, which was cool. It was purely a 'teamwork' kinda thing.

Surprisingly (or not surprisingly...) I was on the same team as my boss. We actually got along. Is this a new beginning? I'm not sure. I hate being let down, so I'm not holding my breath.

This weekend, I'm heading to Prescott to dive with Steve. It should be fun. I'm looking forward to this, as I get to camp and dive. And on Saturday, we're gonna leave early and go see Linda up at her cottage.

I don't think you'll see me on line until then.

I'll try to post tonight. If not, I'll see y'all on Monday!

I'm a 21st Century Digital Boy.

Ok, I was trying to come up with a neat title, but I couldn't. But the theme this weekend was Dragon boats and Couches.

Friday night was a Stag party for a guy at work. It was an o.k. stag, as he was pretty adamant about not going to a Gentleman's Club. So, we had a BBQ, had some libations, and then went to a bar. The bar was again, o.k. It's a huge bar. For those who know the Docks, imagine only 40 people there. Yeah.

Saturday morning was Dragon Boat. I got there fine, and we did our races. We didn't do as well as we could have, but we had a great time. Our times were 2:35 and 2:36 for time trials, and on Sunday, our final times were like 2:37 and 2:39.

Yeah, we were getting longer and longer. But at least the other two boats in our group got first.

But back to Saturday night. I spent the night at Trippy's, which was interesting. Jihye was there and her sister Jiyung came later. It's funny to see Korean girls get drunk.

Sunday night I was at Chris' place for a game. Without Rich, it's tough. 'nuff said.

And, not to brag, but...

Three more Days!

I'm in holiday mode..

Y'know, the nice weather, the time of year...I'm ready to take a holiday.

But last night, I went out for tea with Steve Campbell and Tom Sturges. Now, I went to Tom's wedding back in December, which was amazing. So, seeing him again was amazing, and I hope to get out to see his place in Brampton sometime.

What else? Talking to these guys last night, I think I'm almost decided on what vehicle I would like to replace my lil' cavalier with...

It's either the Honda Element, or the VW Beetle. Sure, the beetle will always remain on the list, but also, a Jetta and a Jeep Liberty is there too.

I know...I'm flip-flopping on this decision. And I do appreciate Linda for not pummelling me with my indecision, but from my point, it's a big decision.

What would I suit, is the question?

It's Wednesday Only?!?

Yowser. Almost for the whole day, I thought yesterday was Wednesday. Oh well. Such is life.

I went for a drink with a few co-workers, which was really nice. Just getting out to decompress after a long day and a pretty hectic time, a pint is always nice.

As I have said before, or maybe not, this weekend is the big Dragon Boat race. Last night, I found my old pics from last year, which I'll try to post sometime later.

Maybe this summer, I can actually get some time to sit down and hack away at a good Blog page, with links to photo pages, friends pages, etc. I'm looking forward to doing that.

And then Linda came over, had some dinner, and we watched TV. Again, it's nice to do nothing when it's quite busy during the day.

Oh, and to comment to Sean's comment: Honour is something you have, right? I don't earn honour. I think you can become more honourable through actions, but nothing you earn. And if you conduct yourself in an honourable way, you'll be an honourable person. Right?

Busy, busy, busy.

So, I had quite the action-packed weekend, but little to say about it.

What really happened?

Hmm....

Friday night, Linda and I went to see a movie with one of her friends. I'll refrain from the title of the movie to save myself from any embarrassment, but let's just say that Hilary Duff was in it. And surprisingly, it wasn't really that bad.

Saturday, we headed up to Sharbot Lake to relax. And we did some fishing, relaxing, and just general wandering around that neck of the woods.

Sunday was more of the same, and coming home for Father's Day.

Father's Day was non-existent for me, but that was talked over with my dad. Jasse and I are going to buy him a new suit, and we were going to take him this week, so he's pretty cool with that. Besides, he was at the hospital visiting Uncle Dan.

Monday was o.k. I had a meeting (Which was about what I would have expected) and then Dragon Boat. Notifying the powers that be, it seems that agreements don't seem to hold water.

Oh well. By the way, on some evenings, I usually chat with my parents about stuff going on. With my dad, some of these conversations really help me sort out my own thoughts and ideas.

One thing that I realized (and I share with my dad) is the idea of honour. Now, I would like to think that honour is something everyone shares. It seems it is not. If someone who I don't like does me a favour, I will be indebted to them until I pay them back. And I would hope that this feeling is reciprocal.

I've noticed a certain type of person does not ever hold this. And it's all 'Take, Take, take"

That would be my pet peeve.

Ah the weekend.

I got back from a fantastic weekend. Linda and I were up in Sherbot Lake. We got a nice room on the lake took in the sites. Mind you, not really that much to see, but it was nice to wander that area of Ontario.

What else? Not really much. My Uncle Dan seems to be o.k. My parents went and visited him today and they said he's doing well. The surgery was successful, so for the most part, he'll be o.k. The question is if he'll be able to walk normally again. Yeah, it does sound a bit bad, but a few days before, he had a slipped disc and could barely move his hands and feet. We'll hear more as he recovers.

Friday, June 17, 2005

No news...

So far, no word from my aunt about the status of Uncle Dan. I'll assume that things are going as planned.

What else? Just a day off, doing laundry, and some small errands I wanted to do earlier.

This weekend, plans have changed.

Thursday, June 16, 2005

Uncle Dan.

I just got a call from my aunt. Apparently my Uncle Dan is in the hospital with a slipped disc. He's supposed to be rushed to another hospital tomorrow for surgery.

As far as I can tell, Uncle Dan's got very little mobility in his hands and legs.

I'm here for you, Uncle Dan. You can get through this.

So, because of this ugly turn of events, the CpFDSJ will be cancelled. I don't want to say postponed, as it'll be called something else.

"There must be some way out of here," said the joker to the thief. "There's too much confusion, I can't get no sleep!"
That's how I feel after a meeting with my boss last night. Imagine that a collective group has debated and won a settlement for a certain right at your workplace. This discussion with the collective group was quite heated, and some job action ensued.

Now, after all is said and done, and the dust has settled, your boss and the management go back to what it was before the discussion, without any acknowledgment of what just happened.

As well, imagine a boss (or manager) taking a personal issue with the business affairs. Understandably, it is hard to separate oneself from the position, but being a professional, you have the duty to perform such action.

My boss does not. Everything is taken as a 'slight' or a direct insult to them.

Unreal.

Other than that, I had tea with Chris and Steve C. last night. It was good. Steve seems more laid back now than he has in months.

This weekend is the Chan Pre-Father's Day Spring Jam. CpFDSJ.

What are Jasse and I getting him? Good question. We're toying with the idea to get him a new suit, but it'll take some fandangling to get him to the store to be measured.

Again, there must be some way out of here.

Wednesday, June 15, 2005

I have waited hours for this. I have made myself so sick, I wish I stayed asleep today.

Last night was quite the storm. Now, I feel bad kinda just talking about the weather, but it's something to behold.

I read in Men's Health this month that if you talk about the weather, you're just wasting your time, and you should either not talk, or walk away. Please don't walk away from this blog, as last night's storm was pretty neat.

So, what did I end up doing? I had to return tanks to the Scuba club, and then I dropped by Chris' to drop off some old RPG books for him to check out. When I got home, I kinda chilled, and started to try to figure out how to make Flash Animations.

Steve Little made a flash animation of Knight Rider, with a soundtrack by us from his cottage. And I don't think it's that difficult. I would like to figure it out this summer. As well, I want to redesign this beloved blog to something more 'personal', with sections, and stuff.

Oh, Steve has defeated his Mental Sith, so to speak. He's been humming and hawing about breaking up with his girlfriend for a few weeks, and last night, he faced his fear, and did the deed. He seemed a bit sad, but that's understandable. I'm glad he did it. He was getting pretty stressed about this relationship. He's ready for a normal one. So, if you're one of the few ladies that actually read this, and you're single. Check him out:

Steve Campbell He's Single, and he loves to cook!

Today, just a regular day. Maybe tea/coffee with Chris and Steve.

I used to live downtown, 129th Street Convent. Everything's Upbeat!

Ah, Old school's in the house...

Where have you been, ol boy? Well, here's the breakdown. From my last blog, it's pretty much the same.

Friday night, Linda and I chilled at night. I didn't do much, but get ready for a dive on Saturday.

Saturday morn, Steve C. and I went up to Burleigh Falls for a dive. Was it good? Nope. Don't get me wrong, I love Burleigh Falls. It's a fun, easy dive, but this time, the algae was in full bloom, and it was pretty gross diving through a plum of algae. It was getting in my Regulator, my ears, and any place it could lodge itself. Again, I'm glad I wear a full wet-suit.

The water was nice and warm, until you hit a thermocline. Again, nature doin' her thang!

Saturday night, I kicked up to Linda's other cottage. She's got two, which is pretty neat, but this one was north of Havlock. It was really nice. It's got a beautiful waterfront area, and a beautiful lake to swim/boat/paddle, etc. Just fantastic. It was amazing.

We came back late Sunday, and I spent the night at her place. It was nice to spend the entire weekend with Linda. And then...

Monday: Hot, humid, and kinda rainy. It was hot all day, and at the end of the day, I had Dragon-boat Practice. It was a huge thunder storm, with crazy lightning. Being out on the water in a boat is a bad thing, so we came back. Practice was cut in half, but it was nice to get out.

And then I met Linda on my way home to take care of a Father's Day present with her, and then we chilled for the evening.

Which brings me to here. And if you survived my whole boring few days, good for you!

What's on the agenda this week? The Chan Pre-Summer Father's Day Jam on Saturday, maybe a fun day on Friday, meeting on Wednesday.

Gym this week? I hope so.

Friday, June 10, 2005

Time after time..

Today, man I'm I beat. Is it lack of sleep, or just the heat? Not sure. But I'm sure that the combination is a killer.

Last night, I chilled at Linda's for night, and was nice

Again, I'm making comments about the heat. For those who are of the Imperial nature it's like 85F and over.

Naw, we're not wimps, but the weather last summer was disgusting. So, I don't want to complain too much.

Sorry, falling asleep.

I'm sweating, look at me, I'm sweating,....

Again, not a song lyric, but close to how I feel. It's been so stinkin' hot, it's all that I can really talk about. When you leave the house in the morning, and you get to work sweating a storm, that can't be good.

Last night I was at a meeting that lasted quite a long time. I got home and had some dinner, and did some work.

I passed out kinda early, and woke up on my own, without the alarm, which is always nice.

Man, is that a boring entry.

Tonight, Dragon Boat practice. I'm excited about that, as since I've been pretty busy this week, I've not had a chance to get to the gym. Next week things let up.

And it's only Thursday. Yokes.

Wednesday, June 08, 2005

Early morning, the Break of Dawn. Knock, knock knock at my door...

I think that's the lyric. I'll refrain from the artist fears of retribution from my peers.

Anyway....It's been a scorcher here. Just really hot.

Me, I had some work to finish at home, so I stayed in and did that. It's a about a 12 hour long project, that I have to do on my time, which is kinda brutal, but it's part of life, right?

And I also talked to Steve C. last night. Poor guy's still stressin' about his girl-problem. Again, the facts are that you need to take care of business, and not let it get out of hand. He's too nice a guy to do what he has to do.

Oh, and the Chan-brother's infamous double/triple booking tendency does still kick in. I'm kinda double-booked this weekend. I have faith that something will work out and I'll be able to both venues.

Linda took off last night for Haliburton, so she's there as we speak. She's no longer in Eagle Lake but now at "some puddle*" north of Eagle Lake. She'll be back on Thursday, but I have dragon boat Practice, so hopefully she'll meet me after.

What else? Summer's coming, and I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully I can do some hiking.

That's really it today, for now. I'm kinda diggin' blogging in the morn.

* 'some puddle' were her words exactly. It's a place north of Eagle Lake, at some town not on any of my maps.

No song today...

I can't think of a good song title. I listen to my iPod on the way to work every morning, and none of the songs inspire any lyrics..

oh wait...One is coming..

It's against the law to walk, it's against the law to talk...

Fine, there's my song title.

Last night I had dragon boat Practice, which was good. I'm one of the Strokes, so that means I set the pace for the boat. I sit at the front, which is nice, as it's a nice view. Last night there was a nasty head-wind, so I was soaked from the wave-action.

Afterwards, I met Linda at home, and we just chilled. It was an amazing night, so we chilled on a swing outside.

Today, Linda gets her degree, unfortunately it's on a stinkin' hot day.

What about me? Just hanging in there. I can't wait for 3 weeks to be over, and then I'm all good.

I'm going Diving this weekend, and I'm a bit excited.

Oh, Steve C: I haven't started reading. I'll get on it this week! :)

Damn, it's Hot!

It's really hot, and I'm getting sleepy.

Ugh.

A police car and a screaming siren, pneumatic drill and ripped up concrete.

Again, an older Brit song, and I'll reveal at the end.

This weekend? Hot, fun, travel, and short. Linda and I chilled on Friday night. We went shopping, and I got a new shirt and shorts. Apparently I have no good T-shirts. Again, my fashion sense seems to be a bit awkward, but that's fine. I'm glad I have a personal Fashion consultant.

Saturday, we kicked to Stoufville, and went to the flea-market. It was fun. I got a new wallet and a new belt. Linda picked up some books. As well, we got some small things that are too insignificant to name. Trust me, the stuff we got is not really that exciting.

Afterwards, we went to Waterloo to visit Angeli and Jasse. It was fun to hang with Lil' Angeli. She's getting bigger, and starting to talk more. I'm really diggin' being called 'Uncle!'. Such a trippy feeling.

Afterwards, we drove up to Elora Gorge to camp. I really dig Elora Gorge. The Historic part is beautiful, and the camp site was great. We set up the tent, and then made a fire, and chilled. 'Twas nice.

Sunday, we spent the morning wandering Elora. We bought some things, and took our time driving back into the city. We both have a lot of work to take care of, but it was a great weekend nevertheless.

Last night was Game night at Chris'. It was o.k. Not our usual game, but a different one. To find out how it went, just visit Chris' site, and you'll see. I wasn't too impressed with it, but it was just an 'experiment'.

Today, Dragon Boat Practice. It's calling for Thunder and showers today. If it's thunder, no practice. Again, we'll see.

...And the song: That's Entertainment - Paul Weller.

Friday, June 03, 2005

Soap for sore eyes, I need an intermission. If looks could kill, I'd kill your television.

Again, an older song that I thought about. I downloaded it to my iPod so I've been listening to this band for a few days now.

I'll tell you who it is at the end of the post.

What's been up for the past few days? I went to the gym, and I was going to blog yesterday morning, but I was not able to. Last night was an extra Dragon Boat practice, which was good. It's such an amazing day to get out and paddle on the water.

Again, I would love to find a team to paddle with during the summer.

Linda dropped by the practice, so that was nice. She saw me 'power-paddling' or something like that.

What else? Mr. Campbell is still in his situation, and not really happy. Oh well.

This weekend, I'm hopin' to kick to the Stoufville Flea Market with Linda to get some stuff. Will the Cheap-Jean guy be there?

The Band? Ned's Atomic Dustbin.
