Power's out...

Just a quick entry: The power went out at work, so we've been pretty much been doing nothing. For the most part, it's a welcome change, but I had so much planned, it kind of buggers up everything.

Oh well. I'm off to a course tonight, and then North Bay on Friday!

I'll try to Blog there.

Andrew: Fantastic Show! You guys are amazing! Yeah, who's Deer Boy? What time is it? :)

Linda: I'm a comin'!

Linda's friends: Word!

Nuthin' New, really.

I tried to post last night, but it seemed my server was down for a short time.

But yeah, Monday was a good day, to say the least. Nothing too exciting. I quite enjoyed how the day went.

...and just as I said, nothing really new to report.

This week, I'll be off to North Bay to see Linda. That's all I'm really looking forward to.

oh, for those who are the RSS types, I've figured out why my blog isn't feeding well: for some reason, it's still stuck on my old address. I'm trying to find the link or command to change it to my new address.

Not a Bad day...

Not much to report today. For the most part, today was really good. I had fun, and I don't really have much to complain about.

It's unusual that on a Monday, things are this smooth. Again, I'm not complaining.

I'm trying to get the RSS feed on my blog working, so let me know if you're not getting anything. I made some changes in the settings, so I hope that blogger is doing it's job.

Anything else?

Not really.

Friday Night, Saturday night, and now Sunday....

Friday night was fun. I'm bringing back the 'Chan-Tripp' evenings. I kicked down to Brad's and we went to see Andrew and his band downtown. Lots of drinks, lots of fun, and a fantastic band.

Saturday was just going to the gym, and doing some errands. I realize I'm a sucker for brand names, so that's all I'll say.

Sunday...well, it's just after lunch, and I'm getting ready to go to the gym. I need to get some stuff, and organize all my summer things for the winter. But I'm going to try to get this blog on an RSS feed. Chris and Sean have bugged me in the past, and somehow I screwed up the feed. I'm gonna try to get it going today, if I have time tonight.

And maybe, I'll be kickin' with Chris to the 100th Monkey again for some more Murder Mystery writing. Who knows?

Thought of the day? Look at my sidebar!

The 100th Monkey

So, I think I found my new coffee shop. Well, not me, but Chris. Chris' friend, Xavier (pronounced "Zavier") came across this little gem a few weeks back. Chris suggested that we visit, and we did.

It's a cyber-cafe. It's got really neat couches, lounge chairs, and it'll be wired for games and internet and all that stuff. The owner is a young guy that went to high school with us, so that's kinda neat. I hope he does well.

Anyway, Chris and I worked on our Murder Mystery for Laurence last night. Not giving away any plot points, we had to change a few minor details about characters to make the story make sense. As well, everybody now has a motive for murder, which is kinda neat.

I'm really excited about this project. Again, if it goes well, maybe Chris and I can pick this up as a side project, or just an ongoing 'series'.

oh, the name of the coffee shop: the 100th Monkey. That story later...

Just killing some time...

So, I have to do an evening event at work. It's supposed to start soon, so I'm just killin' some time.

thoughts of the day? How you likin' it?

Yeah, Sean. I know, Unkymoods is no longer. We have to find another 'mood' indicator.

What else? Nuthin' really. Life is just strange. That's all.

more later.

Skipping the Gym...

Ok, o.k, I'm sick. I was talkin' to some of the guys at work, and we were talking about 'being sick' and 'going to the gym'. The consensus was that I stay home. It's better to take a day off for being sick, than to push yourself, and then losing more time.

Bleh, I kinda hate not going, but seeing what's involved for tomorrow (wed) and the rest of the week, it's best I stay home.

But I' got to relax, and chill, and do some emailing. As well, some updating on the ol' iBook, and other things.

Yeah, not the most creative entry, but an entry none-the-less.

I should get back to 'email' blogging.

And I should show Jasse. He's all wired up with his Blackberry, so there's no reason he can't punch out a blog or two from his handheld.

Thought of the day: It's better to burn out, than to fade away.

The People you meet...

I'm not dead. I just have been busy.

Yeah, yeah, that's the call of the 'non-blogger' person, but it's sometimes hard to blog when you get home late, and just want to sleep.

So, what's been up since I last blogged?

Last week was pretty status quo. Friday night was the U2 Concert. It was amazing. I think U2 has realized they don't need the big flash and stuff for their concert, and it was pretty simple.

Saturday night, Chris and I went to the Law's place to plan a murder mystery. We're gonna do it at his place, and we pieced together the storyline and characters. Now Chris and I have to fill in the blanks, which is a lot of work, but not the hard part.

While doing it, I forgot how much I dug doing it. Jasse and I used to make these things, and we have a few in the 'can' for later.

So, the people I met? At the gym, it's neat, as when one person has been away for a few weeks, others notice. These are people you see, but don't talk to. But it's nice to know that your presence is missed.

Thought of the day: Life is a strange thing.

Oh, and mom got home safe from Trinidad. My Uncle will be just fine.

I'm not dead...Just busy.

Just a quick Update. I'm not dead.

what's been going on?
  • Dragon Boat on the Weekend - We won 2nd in our division
  • Linda was home for a few days before driving up to North Bay
  • Went to Waterloo to see Jasse, Heather and the 2 kids.
  • Back to the Gym.
So, more later....With details.

Dragon boating...

So, last practice for the dragon boat team. Man, was the water choppy. Getting water from the paddler in front of you and behind you is a bit cold.

All in all, a good day. Warm, and sunny, I got a chance to walk around and enjoy the afternoon.

Not much to report on this end, but for the most part, things are good.

Thought of the day? "We must be willing to fail and to appreciate the truth that often "Life is not a problem to be solved, but a mystery to be lived.""

Just a thought...

Quite a day...

So, it was a first day back. And that's all I'll really say.

What else? I went to the gym, did that thing, and then came home.

Linda seems to be having a good time in Cambellford. She's observing a Grade 7/8 class. She'll be there until Friday, and then I get to see her. But it'll be kinda tight, as Saturday morning, I'll be heading out to Ontario Place for the Great White North Dragon Boat Festival. Yeah, on the Principalship.

Just a note: Blogs are really neat. I've been following the life and times of a friend from back in University. He's gone quite a different route than I, but it seems he's doing really well. I've dropped a line to him, and gave him this address to see if he'll check it out.

I hope this entices him to email me. (yeah, you norm!)

Oh, and apparently there are two people who work for KPMG that read this blog. What's even more interesting, is Jasse works for Deloitte. Conflict of interest? Hmm....

The Night before...

So, weekend? What's up?

Friday night was spent with Linda, just catching up, and relaxing. She was telling me about her new classes, her new friends, and showing me her lap-top.

Saturday was spent going to the Jays Game. WE didn't win, but the game was fun anyway. We went with her friend Melissa, Mel's sister and friend. The day was nice, and we ended off at Mel's just talking and hanging out.

Sunday was when Linda headed up to Cambellford to start her Practice teaching. I stayed home, and met Sean and Krissy for a drink that night, which was fun.

Monday was doing little chores around the house. I did laundry, and ironed some shirts, and got things ready for Tuesday. As well, I went out for a drink with Steve Campbell.

Drinks with Steve proved to be interesting, as it's been a few weeks since we last talked. Lots have happened with Steve and I'm happy. He's pretty much moved in with Jen, and they seem to be happy. Again, they're pretty busy with a project they're doing, but I'll let Steve elaborate on that when he gets his internet back up and running.

So, what's the deep thought for today? Oh...Yeah, here's one: With Hurricane Katrina, and all the destruction down in New Orleans, What should be done? Talking to Brad tripp a while ago, he suggested that they walk away from the city, and just start from scratch again. My dad had a similar thought, as there's nothing you can do in that situation. It doesn't matter how much money you have (or don't have!) because there's no place to spend it? You can't rebuild your house, as the foundations are all rotten. Any things you have are either destroyed, or damaged by water.

Any thoughts?

Last Long Weekend...or LDOS~(Last Day of Summer...)
Not really, but my friend Andy Sit coined this term back in University about the first day of summer (FDOS) and the Last day of summer (for the most part).

Plans I had to go places all fell through, but maybe for the better. Seeing that gas prices are like $1.35/L, I'm glad.

Linda's back from North Bay, so I'm just relaxing with her, typing this blog on her shiney new laptop. It's a fancy Toshiba. The screen is wide which is really cool. I'm still a big fan of my lil' iBook, but hey....for a PC, it's good.

What else? It's kinda neat at home with just my Dad. My mom's apparently bored in Trinidad, as she's kinda fallen into routine, and Uncle Tombol is doing better.

But, More later...

Sore...and just sore.

So, Dragon boating made me sore. How sore? I woke up at like 2:00am, and couldn't fall back asleep, as my muscles were screaming. Not a good thing.

Oh well. Such is life, and I'm better now.

Today, I did nothing, really. I bought some neat stuff, took my pants in to get hemmed (which I should look up how to do myself...), and went to Dragon Boat Practice.

Practice was good. I was not hurting as much after today, but still, it was a nice workout, and just amazing to see the sunset on the lake. It's not where I practiced in the Spring, but still, it's a closer locale.

And what are the plans for Long weekend? Not sure. Linda's coming in on Friday, so I'll spend the time with her. Then, she's off to Campbellford to chill with her parents, and I'll be here. Plans? Nuthin' so far...

And I see Sean and Krissy are coming to the ol' P-town...so if I can, I'll hook up with them.

Is my summer over? If it is, it'll have to drag me kicking and screaming!
