Sean's Petition...

Some of you have read Sean's petition on what to rename my blog. He's saying to call it Rawlio's Word.

Not bad, but Who knows? I would make suggestions to Sean's, but I really like his title. To be picky, Sean did start his blog out as a means to spread evil and take over the world. He's mellowed since, but his entries are pretty good.

Myself, I have only said I'm going to talk about my life, and any boring thing I want to mention. I have not really strayed from the path. However, I have become quite slack in postings.

Any interesting thing?

Coretta Scott King passed away today. Hmm..

Talking to my dad this evening, it seems that there are a lot of deaths this month...Well, maybe not more than average, but in our small community of life, We've heard of the following: Mom, my friend's girlfriend's Father, a Volunteer at work, Coretta, a colleague's father. Jeepers. When it rains, it pours!

This is too much!

If you want, and are brave enough, click this!

MC Rawl. If you don't believe, click!

No joke. I'm an MC!

Slack Weekend ?!?

Linda came down this weekend, to chill. Also, it's for Angeli's Birthday. Her birthday is isn't until January 30th, but since it's the closest weekend, so be it.

We had a lot of family over this weekend, with lots of food. It's nice to know that they will keep bringing food for us if we don't say anything.

But not much really to report on for me. Back to the grindstone on Monday, after basically 5 weeks off.

It's rainy, and I wish I had some insightful or meaningful thing to say. Not really. I don't even have any savvy political statement to make.

Argh! Next time...

and maybe some dragon boat tonight? We'll see if I actually find the place!

Getting back to life...

As per life, things are resuming as per normal.

Just a little story. I'm taking a course for work, which I have been absent for the past few weeks. Anyway, in my course, I've made friends with a variety of different people. One being a lesbian who is super cool. I'm not saying that because she's a lesbian that she's super cool, nor am I saying that lesbians can't be super cool, but this chick is just really funny.

The course is finished tonight, and we went to a local put for drinks. There are about 6 of us (3 girls, 3 guys), and the waitress is from Australia. She chatted us up, and one of the guys tried to pick her up. Lo and behold, Annie (the super cool chick) got her number, and all her info. How? The waitress was lesbian as well, and was getting married in a few weeks.

Just amazing. How?

As we all told her, "Do it fast, Harper may put a stop to it soon!"

Just my interesting story for the evening...

What I wanted to talk about yesterday....

This has been sitting on my mind since Monday night. I wanted to post something as I didn't want this to be the next post after the announcement about mom.

Steven Harper?!? Are you serious? C'mon, people? What's up with that?

OK, I'm not really a staunch liberal, nor am I a dedicated NDP'er. But a Tory? Not really...As the Tories are not really Tories, but more like Reform/alliance.

All I can say is that it'll be an interesting year.

14 months, and we'll have another election!

Just things floating in my mind...

So, it's the time after a huge life-altering moment. Yeah, mom's gone. Has it hit me yet? Not really. Maybe I'm still in some serious denial. But I'm not sure. I know the 3 weeks prior to Mom passing away, it was pretty tough.

And now, I'm kinda thinking of the good times we had, the stories I have of mom, and the things she's left behind for us to follow.

I related this to having a bad dream, and suddenly waking up to December 28th, where I was going to go to Campbellford with Linda. Alas, that's not the case. It's almost the end of January, and things continue on like usual. The few certainties of life I've had direct experience with (especially these past few weeks) have been that everybody dies, and that life goes on. The other one is Taxes, and I'm waiting for a few forms to come in to do that.

That being said, let's move on. I want to get back to a normal life, back to the grind, and back to a routine.

Grief? No sir, not yet.

Farewell Mom. I'll miss you.

So, after a battle with Cancer, my mom passed away quietly January 19th, at about 5:20am.

I was in the room, when I heard her take her last gasps of air.

For those who sent emails, or came, please accept my thanks, and know your support was appreciated. I know my dad and brother are pleased with the support from family, friends and our respective communities.

Jasses blackberry while mom sleeps. She is not doing
well.
I may post soon, but dont get your hopes up.

More updates...

So, Nuthin' really new. Mom's kinda maintaining. She had some water last night, and this morning, Jasse and I gave her some coffee. She was quite happy to have a few sips of coffee, and was awake for a lot longer.

Hmm...

Mom's Sick.

So, for those of you who don't know yet, my Mom has been in the hospital for about a week.

Mom's been diagnosed with Colon Cancer, which as spread to her liver and lungs.

Yesterday, she was placed in palliative care.

If I'm hard to reach, this is why.

This goes down as the worst Christmas holiday ever.

I really hate PC's.

So, throughout the turmoil of everything else, my old PC finally died. Yeah, it was a case of me turning it off, and it not wanting to turn back on. I knew that it was having trouble starting up, but not in a usual PC crappy way, but in terms of the Bios starting up.

Yeah, I was a PC Guy, and sorta understand the ins and outs of the Bios. I know that the RAM and other things that are in the Bios run through before launching Windows, but the PC didn't even want to run through its RAM.

So, I figure it's time to get a newer PC, as I have my Dad's books on it. I didn't think that it would be such a pain in the behind to get the hard drive installed into a new machine, and let it run.

Oh well. I've got a nice old P3-500mhz with a snazzy Zip Drive. Not a Jazzy Zip Drive, for those old techies out there.

anyway, I'm in the middle of re-installing pretty much the entire machine as we speak...

Ugh. More pain.

Why can't things be as easy as a Mac?
