It's the end of February...
So, tomorrow will be the official 40th day of Mom's passing away. Why is that important? In Trinidad, they have a dinner in honour of the person on the 40th day (or close to it). It was unclear why they do that, but I found out from a guy at work who does the same. He said that the soul wanders the earth for 40 days, and on the 40th day, they find the place they are going.
Ah, so mystery solved.
What else? Not much, really. It's been a pretty relaxed time, but at work, there is a big project that must be done by next week. I'm about 40% done, and I'm quite happy with it.
Linda was over last night, which was nice. She had to drive back to Cambellford this morning to finish her last week of placement, which is good. She'll be back in North bay next week.
Man, I'm boring. I wish there was even something fun or interesting to say. Nope. Nothing.

You scored as Butt-Kicker. You like a streightforward combat character. After a long day at the office, you want to clobber foes and once more prove your superiority over all who would challenge you.

Holy 3 days, Batman!
So, Here's the rub...
Monday, I went to the gym, and came home and read.
Tuesday, I had dragon boat practice with another team. It was a lot of fun, as they're a lot more hard-core than the team I practiced with Sunday morning. However, I'm not sure which team I would like to stick with...I would like to stay on both, but who knows? It's nice to practice though.
Wed, tonight, I went for a pint with some people from work. It was nice, as having a pint after work is always nice.
What else? Linda's sick, not of me (hopefully) but from working in schools. She's in her placement, and got some kind of stomach virus or something pretty nasty. It's kinda funny because in one's first year of teaching, you get every kind of virus known to the human race. It's almost like a baptismal by fire, so to speak.
Next Sunday March 5th, will be Mom's 40 day memorial Dinner/luncheon. It should be good.
Just to mention, Sunday was 1 month since Mom passed away. Again, people ask me how I'm doing, and I have to say that it's starting to hit me. I'm now only realizing that she's never coming home. I sound silly saying that, as I'm not really in denial of what happened, nor do I not believe she died. I know she did. I just haven't had a long enough time with her not here to make it feel like she's not here.
But...During Narnia, I did cry a lot. I think some scenes got to to me, but mainly it was because I was going to drag Mom to see Narnia. I remember even telling her that I wanted her to rest up, as I would carry her if I had to, into the theatre to watch it. I remember even buying her "The Chronicles of Narnia", the big 7-book volume back in the summer. It was before the hype of the movie coming out. Alas, I did end up seeing it.
What made the experience more emotional, was that the day Mom went into the hospital, Linda and I had planned to go to campbellford to chill, and go catch Narnia somewhere.
I kept telling people that my only plans for Christmas were to spend time with Linda and see Narnia. As life goes, that was not what was planned.
Oh well. Oh a lighter note...
Damn you, Canadian Men's Olympic Team. Hooray Canadian Woman's Olympic Team.

Sheesh! What's the hold up?
Yeah, I've got no real reason to be behind on the blog. This week, I was pretty busy, but I should have been able to blog a bit.
What's been up? Steve Campbell's bachelor party, which was good. We ate at the Mongolian Grill, and then went to a few of the Gentleman's Clubs that Durham has to offer.
Saturday night, Linda and I went bowling with some of her friends from Teacher's College, her friend Mel and her boyfriend Jerry. Bowling was ok. I remember why I don't like bowling. 'Nuff Said.
Sunday morning, I actually got out of bed to go to the Dragon Boat practice with the WRCC (west rouge Canoe Club). It was a good dry-land pool practice. I have not paddled since September, and I can feel my muscles aching already. Man, after a season, those muscles become lazy!
This week should be o.k. I'm not really planning on anything huge yet, but again, time will tell.

Happy Valentine's Day!
Hey there all. I hope you and your loved ones have a good Valentine's Day. Mine is in Norwood doing her placement. I'm home alone, but I may be going out for some tea with 2 friends from high school.
So, for those who know the secret of Linda with my Co-workers, it's gonna start to come out. I know for the funeral and the viewing, Linda was there, and some of my colleagues saw here there.
Well, since it's kinda silly now to hide the fact, we're going to see if we can get things rolling. I've been dropping hints that I'm seeing a girl. With one guy, I told him that I called Linda, and we talked for a while.
We'll see.
What else is in the world of Rawl? Not much, really. Kinda unmotivated right now for the gym. I've been off for about a week. I'm gonna try to go tomorrow.
This weekend is Steve Campbell's bachelor Party. That should be blast. Tom and I are organizing it along with J.J., Steve's Brother. We've got a bunch of fun activities planned, but I'm going to keep the details hush-hush, as Jen and Steve read this.
Be ready to Roll initiative, Steve!

Answers...
So, Jasse sent me this link to something kinda neat:
Yahoo! Answers
You can post questions, and get people to answers them. Or, you can answer questions to other people.
Just way too funny.
What else? Just chillin' with Linda.
Last night I went out with Susan for tea, and got the low-down in her life. She's doing well, which is cool. She got a neat lil' Mazda protege, which is black. And she finally got a cell, which makes her now part of the rest of the world :)
Anything else? This weekend, I'm going to the Marlies Game with some people from school, so that should be fun.

Atom Feed / RSS is fixed!
So, just quickly, I was in Ottawa for Winterlude. It was warm, so it's more like "slush-lude"
It was pretty awful walking around and seeing the slush.
But one good thing was that Sean fixed my Atom Feed, so I'm now back up and running.
Thanks, Sean.
So, you can now add me, and I'm back to be 'fed'.

The Phantom Artist.
Before Christmas at work, I used to have a go at drawing characters and cartoon figures of the people I work with. All were pretty good (if you ask me), and many had a satirical element to it.
A few times some people were a bit sore at the cartoons, but for the most part, they loved seeing what would be on the board the next day.
The best part was that nobody knew who did it. I was not suspected because many people didn't think I had the talent. I don't know if I was happy to have a great alibi, or insulted that I was pretty much a no-talent hack.
Being away at the hospital and for mom, I wasn't there, and the drawings stopped. My co-workers quickly figured out what part of the equation was missing, and solved for 'X'.
So, I've admitted, and I have been having fun drawing again.
Again, the comments on the Phantom Artist were funny. Everything to "They're really talented" to "oh, it's gotta be this person...I saw him do it". Just to funny.
Anything else?
Goin' to Winterlude this weekend. I'll try to post from Ottawa. I think I did last time...But I know that when I first started this blog, one of my first posts that week was Brad and I's trip to Ottawa.
Ah, it's been almost 2 years!
