Ottawa!

I've been in Ottawa with Linda for the past few days.

Sean and Krissy have let us stay at their place while we are/were here. During the day, I've been helping Steve with his kitchen Reno.

Sanding, doing duct work, and other stuff. It'll look good when it's done.

Also, Linda and I wandered the Parliament Buildings. They're pretty cool, except for the lack-lustre security. Not like it was not there, but more like bungling idiots who seem to want to show some power yet not the capability. Just odd.

The Peace tower was pretty good, and is said to be the safest elevator in North America. It's safe, I guess, but I would argue that more people die of accidents on their stairs then an elevator.

But going on that vain, more people die of coconuts falling than of shark bites, so...

As Cutty Ranks once said; One million ways to die, Choose one!

back to my point....Ottawa was fun. We're on our way home.

Monday's with Alex....

I saw Alex last night, which was good. He kinda fell off the face of the planet for a while.

He's currently out in Oakville, which is closer than Sud, but about the same as if he was in Colborne.

Oh well.

LInda and I will be kickin' out to the Nation's capital this week for a while, and then back for whatever. I think I'm meeting some people for Saturday night, so we need to cut the trip kinda short.

Sean and Krissy have allowed us to stay at their place, as Steve's place is under construction. i'm going to help him Reno his Kitchen. Little (!) does he know that I don't really know what to do, nor how to do things. I think I'll pretend to be Al borland, and show up with some jeans, and a plaid shirt. I may swing and buy a flannel plaid shirt for the occassion.

I can't wait to say "I don't think so, Steve"...

ok, I'm a dork.

Nuthin' really.

I'm home today. Dad took our cousins to Niagara falls and I'm home chillin'.

I went to the Public library to get some books on what I'm thinkin' of doing this summer. So maybe I can do some readin' this week.

Linda and I are planning on going up to Ottawa, so if possible, maybe I can read when I'm there.

Oh, pics of North Bay race are posted on: NORTH BAY PICS!

Just find 'North Bay', and look.

In front of the ol' Comfort Inn

Bloggin' via stealing wireless internet off of Comfort Inn in Orillia, sitting having a coffee..with the greated girlfriend in the world.

Yeah, that's what Linda's typing. Oh well. Weekend was good. WRCC won pretty much 2nd place in all the events. We got 2nd place overall, and I got a silver medal.

Linda, paddled with the Woman's WRCC team, and got herself a silver... the first time out! That is impressive.

Such a good weekend, and great weather. That's pretty much it for now.

Kickin' back home, and who knows...I think this week is free, but things fill up fast.

One contract Job done, one Quick Coverage...
so, I'm done for the most part the work I have to do for the summer.

I'm headin' out to North Bay in a few minutes with Linda.

I'll be back on Monday. I may blog from North Bay, but not too sure.

I can't wait to chill on Monday...if I can.

Recalled again...

So, I was asked to come back on Thursday for more work. I'm afraid they'll ask me for Friday, which I can't do. I'm busy that day, and kickin' to North Bay for another Dragon Boat Race.

I finally heard from Alex, so that's good. Things don't seem to well for him, but he'll pull out. Dude's a Tank. Nothin' can stop that.

I don't know if I'll do Caribana this year, but I think I might. I had a great time a few years back, so I'm not sure.

I'll have to call this girl about it, and I think I'll do it.

Word of the day? 1059.

Holy Heat, Batman...

Man, was it hot. In the Vibe, it was reading like 38 degrees.

Crap, that's hot.

Hey, Avril got married the same time Linda's friend Sarah did. And they both showed up in Vintage Rolls Royce. I'll post the pic later.

Here comes the Bride...

I'm getting ready to kick out to the wedding.

West-indian styles, I'm gonna be 'tail-gating' it. I got a bottle of irish wiskey for my friend Liam who I found out is pretty much on the same totem pole as I am: boyfriend to someone importent at the wedding.

Open Bar, it's gonna be messy.

Recalled!

Not a bad thing, but the contract job I was doing, has asked me to do another 3 days. I'm happy, so that's some extra cash coming my way.

tomorrow is Sarah McCullough's Wedding. She'll be married to Brent (something) so I'll be attending. Linda's the Maid-of-Honour, so I'm just the boyfriend of the Maid of Honour. Not really that honourable, but more of 'chauffeur'.

Should be fun. Sarah's got some family from Ireland, and I was chatting with someone named 'Liam', and it was quite interesting. The Irish are very friendly.

What else? There's something else I want to mention, but it escapes me at the moment. Hmm...

I'll figure it out.

Wednesdays are funesdays...

Ok, not really, but I can play around.

Y'know, listening to podcasts on my morning commute across the city has got me to think about doing a podcast...

but then Linda told me something last night that I can completely agree.

Being on Vacation, I don't talk much during the day from when I was working. So, when I have the chance, I talk too much. I think Linda was trying to relax and enjoy the evening and I kept on talking.

Which made me think about doing a podcast, since I have lots to talk about.

But...That involves sitting in my room and talking into my computer for long periods of time. None of that sounds really appealing.

I remember having a 'Radio' show when I was kid with the family's tape player and a few blank Cassettes, which I was the host, 'Rawly Rawl'. Again, I'll be living out those days.

If I was kinda bored, I think I would totally do that. Since I'm not completly bored, I won't.

However, that being said, one podcast, they use an 'MP3' player with a mike. I was thinkin' about maybe getting a MD (Mini Disc) Player, and going on the road. The trick will be getting it on iTunes, and seeing if anyone would listen to my tripe...

I could do a 'daily' commute' talk show. Again, more minutiae of my life...

oh well...The summer's long, and I'll have time.

Race Day, Sunday and Monday...

Belleville came and went. How was it? Well, I can't say I was impressed nor can I say I was disappointed. As the coach said, "It's a farm race...It's just for practice." The starts were a bit hokey, and the finishes were kinda arbitrary. The finish line was kind of a floating line based upon the whim of the judges, and it seems the guy who timed was either right on, early or asleep at the switch.

Oh well. It was a beautiful day, and I had a good time chillin' with the team.

Sunday was World Cup. Dad and I were cheering for France. Unfortunately, they lost their best player, and they lost the game. Oh well. Such is life. It was a fun time.

Monday came and went, for the most part. I'm working a contract job, which is a bit boring, but I'm getting paid well, so I can't really complain too much.

Oh, just so Jen doesn't get angry, hey!

Saturday night, (to not go in chronological order) I met up with Steve Campbell, his lovely wife, JJ, Danny and Jason Das. It was nice to see this group as we've not really had a chance to chill since before Steve's wedding in March.

Jen got kinda drunk, which was nice to see. She never seems to drink, and to see her giddy was quite a site. And also, Steve should start updating his blog.

More tomorrow...

Friday night...

Been at Linda's and chillin' with my peeps.

What's been going on?

Wednesday, I met Susan for a tea at Second cup. Again, it's been a long time since we had tea last, so there was a lot to catch up. She's going this weekend (well, tomorrow) to the Belleville Race. That'll be kinda fun.

Thursday after practice, I went for a few pints with some of the dragon Boat crew. We went to Lone Star and a Country band was playing. Not bad, really.

Friday night, I went and met Chris and Jacquie at the Weaver's arms for a drink. Again, a rock band was playing, and they were pretty good. I would go and see them again if I knew who they were.

But during the conversation, Jacquie was telling me that at her school, they're getting Fred Penner to come in a do a performance.

Yes. Fred Penner. He's still alive. And he's got a website!

But Saturday, I'll be kickin' down (or up?) to Belleville to race. It will be an interesting race, as it's 1/2 the length of a regular race. Very quick is what coach was saying.

And Germany plays Portugal....Go Portugal!

Dammit....

Ok, a bit vulgar, but that was what I was thinkin' at about 4:40pm today. Damnit! France won. I wanted Portugal to win, but such is life.

My dad and I have been closely watchin' the world cup for a few weeks now, so I think We'll have a little World Cup party here. Little, as in , just the two of us. I'll ask him if he's up for having a few people over for the game. We's got a nice big TV, and so it would be a waste to not use it.

What else? Things are maintaining.

I've got a Dragon Boat race this weekend up in Belleville. It's only a 200m race, so apparently it's over even before you realize it. I think we'll be ok in this one.

What else? I'm not dead yet, Sean!

And it's nice to be back on the ol' Blog.

by the way, I've been listening to many podcasts for the last little bit. Here are a few you should check out if you're ever up for some cool ones:

The Word Nerds - These guys talk about the history of language. It's really neat.

Skeptics Guide to the Universe - These guys look at all sorts of things from the skeptical point of view.

Quirks and Quarks - you should listen, as should all good Canadians...

Check 'em out...

There are a few more, but they're not as interesting...

Where have I been?

I'm gonna mention Sean wilson here, but it'll be explained at the bottom.

Ok, yeah, I was kinda this busy, but it's been a good ride for a few weeks.

With the end of the year (for my job), it's kinda busy. Also, with dragon boating, working out and helping dad do stuff, it's been quite busy.

Highlights for me:

Mom's Internment - Yeah, we had to do this. It was nice. A bit more emotional than I thought it would have been, but hey, it's a pretty intense moment.

Dragon Boat Practices - Getting crazy.

Year End Parties - not too bad. It was nice to chill with the folks you work with. Especially meeting everyone's 'significant' others, for the most part.

Sarah Douglas-Murray (nee Newby)'s Party - Always a pleasure to chill with her and Hugh.

David Ghosh's Party - Ah, that was fun. Drinking and 4 hours of Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Canada Day - Going to linda's cottage with Her brother (Allan), his girlfriend, (Brie), Brie's friend (Cherry), and her boyfriend (Mark). As well, linda's friend Mel came. It was nice. The weekend was beautiful, and being outside was fun. I tried Windsurfing, but I kinda just fell off the board. Mark and I went to catch the England/ Portugal Game, to which we met some people and went back to their cottage.

Today - Ah, this is the cleaning/relaxing part. I'm in the middle of cleaning Jasse's old room and clearing out stuff. I had an idea about what to do with all our old junk, so I'll explain that in a later email. Will we donate it? For the most part, yeah. But it's not a 'Clean Sweep' kinda deal. No huge Garage sale here. But that wouldn't be a bad idea? Hmm...

I'll keep this short. But just some shout outs:

Norm: I will try to come to London this summer. I have a few days here and there, so it'll be during the week, if that's cool.

Alex: Where the hell are you?

Brad Mike : yeah, you don't read this, but welcome home.

Mel : do you read this?

Linda : Do you still read this? :)

Sean : What's up? You gonna stay with MyID? We've got more space, and let's hope they have solved the problem. I'm gonna be fiddlin' with the extra space.

Chris : Welcome back. Tea sometime?

And why is Sean near the bottom? He has this subscribed to something, and I wanted to catch is attention.
