Blogging from my couch...
I think Sean had a entry like this a while ago. I'm not quite in the new era of wireless, as Linda is, but my lil' iBook is holdin' out still.
I've wired up the apartment (for the most part) so I can have 4 computers on the go. The crappy Desktop, Linda's laptop and me on the couch. I think I can dig that.
Thought of the day? Clementines should be all year long. Nobody needs to say "It's special to have it only one time of the year". I want it all the time.
What's better than blogging from my couch? Having Linda feed me clementines while I blog from my couch.
Being a bit non-sequitur, (or A.D.D as one person once commented), I'm on the 11th floor with the windows open, and you can still hear the cars. Linda pointed that out.
And we got new floors. not as exciting as I thought they would be. Ah, such is life.

Late night blogging...
Linda's asleep, and I'm just puttering around the apartment.
Anything new? Not really. Just looking for a new gym to work out at. There are a lot of gyms, but the trick here is haggling for a good price. Some friends from work like a place, but I've heard some sketchy things about it. Well, maybe from a few people on the cleanliness of the place.
Another place is really nice, and I can get a really good deal on a membership, so I may jump that one. It all depends. Linda likes one, and hates the other. However, we don't really need to be at the same gym. But then again, it would be nice.
Who knows? I'm just not too keen on joining for a year. But I think that's all they offer here.
I guess I might as well.
Oh, and we get new kitchen floors tomorrow. The next time I blog, I may have new floors! I don't exactly know why, but the building is going to put new tiles in for us. Neato!

Sunday things to do...
So far, so good. Internet's up and running. Linda and I were up early to get some errands done. Things are done.
She's takin' a nap, and I'm kinda watching TV, and getting some things on my iPod. Now, being only like 8 minutes away, my iPod listening has really been curbed. Crap. And a double crap.
however, Brad said something interesting. I was telling him that I really don't like that my commute to work is like 8 minutes. He said "What? Are you crazy? Think about it. Your old commute was like 1-1 1/2 hours a day. That's like 5-7 hours a week. I'm sure you can find something to do with that time. You've just coped with losing that time. Get over it, and enjoy your life!"
Yeah, he's right. I never thought of it like that.
Oh, and I found out he set a date for his wedding. May 26th, 2007. Neato. Yeah, Brad's getting married.

Finally!
Ok, I'm not completly hating Rogers. I've got my internet up and running, and the router is moving along quite nicely.
I had a little cable splitter hooked up, and I think that messed some things up, but now, I'm happy and online.
ah, how nice...

It should be resolved in 24 hours...
So,
I've been waiting for 24 hours since Sunday afternoon. This is the longest 24 repair ever.
I can't believe I have no internet.
However, things are good. The apartment is about 85% set up. Maybe a little more, but that's a good percentage. The only things to set up is the Playstation in the bedroom (!) and to hide the wires for the computer and the TV.
Domestic life? Ah, it's a breeze (so far!!!)

No internet...
So, I haven't blogged because I'm "Sans Rogers".
They're having a problem with the system, and it's not connecting.
I'm getting a bit frustrated.
Ugh..
unconnnected...

All Moved in...
Before I start, I got the messages, Beverly. (can I call you that? Not Mrs. Little? Or is that Vicki? ). Thanks for the comments! I don't know why they're not showing up. I'll investigate this week (read below for the reason...).
So, things went really well. We had lots of help, and the move was quite easy and fun. Yes, fun for a move.
Thanks to:
Steve Campbell and Chris Talbot - For moving all the stuff, and making me laugh all days.
Allan and Brie - For moving, and helping with everything.
Dave Ghosh - keeping me company in the truck, carrying things down a hallway.
Brent and Sarah - Brent assembled a Pax Wardrobe from Ikea with missing pieces. he did an amazing job with 1/2 the parts absent.
Melissa - Mel and Sarah washed all of our dishes, and I think they unpacked some kitchen stuff.
Tiomi - She came later that day, and hung up my clothes. I didn't ask her. Linda did, and she didn't say no.
We were done moving everything by 11:30, and I had the rental truck back by 12:30.
The only glitches were things that we could not control. Bell took a while to get our phone hooked up. Rogers has the cable in, but no Internet. Apparently the system is down in the area, or something weird like that. Not really good.
And we were supposed to get some dressers, and the store screwed up. Hopefully we get them today, as Linda and I are living out of boxes. Well, only our clothes. Everything else is taken care of.
And, dad is back from Florida. Here's a weird thing. When I went to pick him up back in April/May from Trinidad, I was waiting and I was chatting with some guy who had a business. we were talking, and it was kinda neat. Last night, waiting for Dad, I ran into the same person. We remembered each other, and chatted for a bit.

Happy Birthday, Mom.
For all of you out there, today would have been mom's Birthday. I'm playing hooky and going to visit the grave. I know it's just where her remains are buried, but I would like to visit it on her birthday.
What else, Linda and I got the keys (well, one set) to the new apartment. I've taken some pics with my fancy new phone, and I'll post 'em.
Yeah, this weekend will be a bit busy. I'll try to blog tonight, if not, this weekend. maybe I can post some pics of the move?

With a subject...
Sean said that the RSS feed is weird.
I've got my own blog on my RSS feed, and it's fine...
hmm....

If I don't put a subject, there's no bold thing, right?
Rain, and more rain today. Ugh. Not good in my line of work.
But I'm off on Friday and Monday.
Friday : For Mom's Birthday. I'm going to the grave.
Monday: I'm taking as a moving day, and helping move things around. And I pick dad up from the airport.
Lucky guy, being in Florida and all.

Finishing some work, and trying out a new headset...
So, I went out for a pint with Scott. Man, did he need it. It was nice to chill and just relax after a pretty hectic few days.
Yeah, I've been kinda putting the nose to the grindstone, and not taking my normal breaks with co-workers. I've been actually doing work at my desk at lunch, which is rare for me. I just want to get things finished so I have my evenings free to get packing.
Which is what I'm going to do after I get off this blog...pack, pack, pack.
I realize I only need a few clothes, so I'm going to pack the rest of my stuff tonight. Hopefully I won't forget things. Even if I do, so be it. I can come back for it, right?
Besides, I'm gonna be back home on Monday to get dad from the airport. Still in Florida.
New Headset? With my new phone, it came with a wireless headset. It's more to listen to MP3's, but it also has a mic to talk as a phone. the sound is OK, but I feel like a WWII pilot. It's not the cool headset you see on commercial jets, but the big crazy ones. Again, not the coolest thing to wear in public, but around the house, it's not bad!
Thoughts for today? When you think the world is crazy, and you're not, people will say it's you. sometimes, the world is just crazy.
Chew on that!

Something Interesting to talk about...
So, I've been prompted to talk about something interesting.
It's not that I don't have anything interesting to talk about, its just that it's been a tad busy around the Chan household.
I took Dad to the airport last Friday, so I've been home alone since. Also, Jasse's in Kentucky on assignment with his family in Alabama. As well, I'm getting things packed to move out on Saturday. So, between that and stuff at work, I've barely had time to do things.
And to add to that list: I have a cousin from Trinidad come and visit. I remember meeting her when I was 7, and that was the last time I saw her. I took her around Monday after work, and didn't end up getting home until 11:30pm. Ugh. Double Ugh.
And I'm sick.
But for an update: Everything is almost packed. Most of my clothes are packed, and some of my stuff. It's hard to see what to take, as I'm not really sure what I need to take. Dad said I can leave whatever I need here, so don't worry about moving everything.
Again, maybe a good thing, maybe a bad thing. But then again, it took Jasse 5 years to move all his stuff out, and there's still some things here.
And I didn't realize that Blogger moved to google, so my site was gone for a bit. It's back, and I' hope to have time when I move to update and fix some things...
promises, promises, promises....
yeah, right.
oh, and I got a new cell! more on that later.

Rain, fog and general Cold...
So, where do I begin?
Monday night, I met some old friends from University from my Fraternity. One guy is living in Hong Kong, and up for a few days. It was nice to see the guys again and to chill.
Tuesday was me doing work at home, with Linda trying to get by her first year of working. It's a tough thing in your first year, working, moving and all that jazz, but hey, you gotta do it sometime.
On the weekend, I pretty much did nothing. Linda and I relaxed, and did some shopping for some new furniture. We got some Bedding stuff, dressers and organized things for the move.
The move is actually next weekend. Again, if you're reading this, and you're up for some box moving, let me know.
Oh, and Sunday night (yeah, I'm out of sync here), I was gaming with Chris, Logan and Rich. A bit spooky, but fun. The game was called "Call of Cthulu." It was kinda a creepy game, but that's the whole idea.
and tonight, Dragon boat...in the Fog!

Trying to keep up...
So, My crappy PC has been on the fritz for a while, and so I reloaded WinXP. I think I did something and it fixed the problem.
What else? Winter's coming with vengeance, and making no qualms about it.
I had some interesting thoughts about something yesterday, but now I've completely forgotten them. That really sucks.
Man, you guys must be in pain reading this.
But keep reading. I'll keep blogging. I still enjoy doing it, but just getting to the computer nowadays as been a bit tougher.
Oh, It's November, so that means it's like 16 more days before Linda and I move in. Yeah, I finally move out.
