Happy New Year's Eve...So, I've been in Ottawa for the past few days. I'll post some pics from Linda's camera soon.
It was nice. I went downhill skiing for the first time (for real). It was a blast. I was nervous, and stuck to the bunny hills, but I had a good time. LInda was a good teacher.
We also saw linda's friends, and I finally saw Steve's new kitchen. Steve and Vicki did a fantastic job on his place. It looks amazing.
What else? Just chillin' for Tonight. No big parties. Linda and I will enjoy a New Year's together, without any real family emergency.
And as I type, she's running to get a hamster. Why? She wants a pet.

Santa came.
Well, in the apartment, we have a little tree. Linda was happy with the idea, but then she really wanted a real live big tree. Oh well. I like the little tree.
And as per Holiday Tradition, I'm up early. I've not gotten up this early for Christmas in a a really long time. Wow, is it early.
I can see the stocking are stuffed, and the tree is slightly laden with presents.

How fast has time gone by?Ok, because I'm really busy at work, I find that I'm running out of time this week. Very few times of the year do I wish the week was longer to get things finished before they ended.
Again, I'm not counting the summers where I wish for longer times, but this is the week I wish I had an extra day to do things.
Which goes to the idea of when you wish time will go by faster. I remember my mom saying that sometimes she wished her day would fly by, but then she realized that she was wishing her life away.
I think about that when I get into situations like that. Life is short, and wishing that time passed quicker is essentially asking to fast forward your life.
Quite Philosophical for late at work night.
And I was listening to a blog about grammer, and they addressed the whole notion of when to use "i.e." and "e.g." Please don't attack my grammar, but here's the jist of this tidbit of information:
i.e.: means "in other words".
e.x.: means " for example".
just for your information.
Early on a Monday...I complain that I'm up early and going on a monday, but Jasse has always emailed me with his morning commute. Being a big Deloitte and Touche guy, he's gotta fly out to the US every Monday morning. That means he's a the airport at 4:00am. he's usually up at 2:30am, and on the road by like 3:00ish.
Oh well.
The weekend was fun. Linda and I did some errands, and then we chilled on Saturday. We got some more presents and then other stuff we needed. Again, it's amazing what you spend when you go out to get stuff.
It's only 7 days left before Christmas. Jeeper!

I'm almost done. I think I've got most of the pics scanned.
And I'm not having a New Year's Eve Party. Not this year. I'm going to wait a year before I have one. Just in honour of mom.

So, I'm at a new gym.
Goodlife so far has been good. I've done one workout, and I'm quite pleased. Not 100%, but loads more that when I was at Premier.
And when I was at the gym, linda started to wrap Christmas gifts. And she wrapped my stuff too. Man, what a trooper.

Cold, new jackets, and how good they can be...So, I got a new winter jacket in the summer. Linda and I were in some backwoods town and a store had a sale on their Columbia Winter jackets. Now, outside was like 35 degrees, so the last thing on people's minds were winter jackets. This sale however, was really good. Those super 3-in-1 titanium super cold jackets for like 70% off. I couldn't pass it up. I got it. It's really nice.
So, having this beautiful jacket in my closet since July, I've been waiting for a cold enough day to wear it.
Thursday night was pretty cold. I got outside, and I was cold, but I didn't think it was cold enough. It was -10 degrees.
This morning, the windchill made the temperature -16. Hmm, should I wear it? Linda said I should, because it was cold enough.
So, out we go. I'm outside, and I say "Holy crap, it's not cold. It's not worth wearing this..."
"Um...it' freakin' cold. Your jacket is warm"
"...oh..."
So, I guess the jacket is good. Finally.

It's kinda chilly. I got a new winter jacket but I haven't worn it because I don't think its cold enough.

Not a bad week, thus far...I may have jinxed myself, but I'm gonna see what happens here.
I started at a new gym, which is ok. Not my first choice, but it's using a free Week pass. The washrooms are a bit dirty, and the weights are kinda hard to find (plates for the bars), but for the most part, it's adequate.
I'm tackling Final Fantasy X2 currently on the PS2. It's been a really long while since I've played PS2, but I'm gonna try to save money, and stay at home and hid on my game system.
What else? Chilln' in the new apartment. And for the most part, keepin' afloat.

Ok, I don't know if Mark reads this in England, but it's Mark Beldan's Birthday today. He's my friend who moved to London to be an artist, and apparently he's doing just that.
What else? Today was my day of Domestisity. Linda went to see her folks, and I did the laundry, cleaned the bathroom, mopped the floors, and generally cleaned the apartment.
I'm attempting some Veggie Lagsagne as we speak. It's in the oven, and I hope it's ok.
Oh, I bought some "Mott's Red Eye" last night to try. I'm a big fan of Caesars and the whole Clamato juice taste. How does it fare with Beer?
Holy smokes...
I couldn't drink it. First sip: Ok. 2nd sip: Kinda bad. 3rd sip: Unbearable.
I had to dump it out. No more Red eye for moi.
