I came, I saw, I roti.
Yeah, so it's done. I made 'em.
a bit floury, but not bad. I know what to do next.
Gonna go eat.
Roti and Sushi Easter weekend.
Jesus would have been proud.
Roti Update
So, I'm trying to make Roti.
so far, i made a bit of a mess kneading the flour. Now it's time to let it sit for a bit to let the yeast do it's thing...
Rolling them out into nice circles, I remember mom telling me that when she used to make this when she started out, they were in the shape of different countries. Her brothers would make fun of her "Trinidad-shaped" roti.
Yeah,I've got Africa, I had a PEI and I think I somehow made an Ontario. Oh well. First try, right?

Easter Monday
So, this was Sushi weekend. I had fish on Good Friday, and then I decided to try some sushi on Saturday. I was at the grocery store, and I saw some 'store made sushi' on display. I asked the woman behind th counter who made it and she gave me some tips; basically, where to get the fish. I got some fresh tuna from the fish department, and went home to try the experiment.
I looked at the tuna. It looked fresh. It had no smell, and seemed really good. I cut a piece, and dipped it in some soy sauce, and popped it in my mouth.
Waiting, I felt like those really bad game shows, where they really milk the suspense ting (i.e: asking a question, and waiting a full minute to answer...). No ill effects, no bad feeling.
Huzzah! There was success! I had sushi. And I made California roles, and some pure vegetarian ones fro Linda.
It was a Japanese Easter weekend.
Today, I'm gonna attempt to make roti. That'll be interesting. I borrowed some of my mom's old stuff from home I don't think dad would mind. If I'm good,I'll get my own. But until then, I use his. Besides, Dad's in Trinidad, and he's not really using it currently.

Happy Good Friday
We have another long weekend. It's weird, coming off of march break, and then straight into Easter.
Ah, the first summer long weekend. It's usually the start of Spring Cleaning. Being still cold outside, it's not a great thing to do. I want to clean my car, but vacuuming in the cold is not so appealing. A clean car is worth it, thought.
Oh, what else, Being married, Linda and I decided to merge our bank accounts to make sure we save money on little transactions, and get a better handle on our finances. We're not overspending , nor do we blow money on things. It' s just hat we want to see where money goes, and all that, and help pay down some things from the move, wedding and other little things that came up (furnace!!!)
So, in the nest few weeks, I'll be saying goodbye to Scotiabank, and saying hello to TD-Canada Trust.
Not getting into a spitting match, but Scotiabank has always gave me a hassle for everything I wanted to do. Even getting money out for my house, they gave me a run around. I had to email the president to sort out the matter, which took care of the problem, but I don';t really want to resort to that action every time I want to do a simple thing.
Case in Point: Apparently I cannot take my Mom off my account, even thought she's been gone for 2 years now. Only the executor (who is my dad) can have that power. He went in after mom passed away to change all of the banking things, which included removing her name from the records. They forgot to take her off of my accounts. And so to remove her, which you cannot, the easiest thing to do would be to make a new account, and switch all of my automatic billing things. I have to do the running around to fix this mistake.
Yeah, that's what I got. Apparently even death is not a good reason for removing a person from an account. So long, Scotiabank. I had my first Getting there account from you, but even that loyalty seems to not matter.
oh, go find some eggs!

Happy Birthday!
Yeah, it's my Birthday. If you know me, thanks for the birthday wishes. If you don't know it's my birthday, all good. I'm born on the Ides of March. My Mom used to joke with me saying that only bad things came on the Ides of March.
Looking back through the archives, it's kinda funny where I was on each birthday.
2007 - Looking at buying this house, living in Guildwood.
2006 - In North Bay, cross Country skiing, and drinking Goldschlager.
2005 - Getting ready to go to Trinidad
2004 - Was in Fort Lauderdale, wandering NSU.
What else? I've been pretty not on the blog only because I've been sick for a few days. I thin I got a touch o some stomach flu that kept me on the Throne for some time. Unfortunately Linda caught it too, and is currently undergoing the same fate.
As for the crack, it's fixed. Pat came over, and helped me get a new coupler on, and it's good as new.
That's really it, for the most part. I'm quite happy and gassy, which is nice. Linda's not too happy but only because she hurts.
Et Tu, Brutes?

Crack Sucks...
Yeah, it does.
I went down in my basement to get some towels, and saw that my floor was wet. First thing I thought was that the Foundation was cracked, and this snow melt was coming into the house.
I tracked the water to the source, and saw that the pipe from the toilet to the main sewage drain had a crack in it. It's old, so the cast iron just split like a peanut. Water all over, and p\bits of toilet Paper.
Ah Crap!
That was first my thought, then what quickly it became what I was looking for. I remembered that i had came home earlier to take a well needed constitution. I was afraid that my day's intake was now on the basement floor as part of the furniture.
Thank the deity of your chose that only a tiny bit was on the ground, easily remedied by some toilet paper!
Apparently it'll be a quick fix, as I just need to replace the cracked section with new PVC.
Sweet!

Preliminary Pics...

Here are some pics from the photographer, just to give you an idea of what we looked like.
Post Wedding.
I'm alive.
The Hindu ceremony was fantastic. Linda looked beautiful in her sari, along with her friends. They spent a lot of time getting ready which showed when they came to the temple.
It was nice to share the temple with people, because many have only seen the outside of the temple. I've offered to take them in, but no one really wanted to come. This was a good excuse to see inside.
Things went well, and I hope the pictures from the photographer things came out well.
I'm married, and Linda's a Chan. Neat.
More on the wedding later. were going to get back to reality and do our normal duties of our lives.
